Their advantage is that they do not have to be aimed or moved by a technician.

- Wireless microphones send signals on specialized radio frequencies to receivers cabled to the audio recording system.- Inexpensive wireless microphone are prone to interference from unwanted outside signals.- These are used with less trouble of a cable mic with almost the same quality.

Booms Mic booms are typically used in studios

where their weights and bulk are not inconvenient.

Booms are useful because the operators do not have to hold the weight of the microphone.

Fish Poles Fish pole booms must

be held, moved and aimed manually, but they are far lighter and more compact than booms.

For this reason fish poles are preferred on many location shoots

Microphone stands Microphone stands

are indispensable for recording narration, musical performance, and any other applications.

Although short table stands are often used for voice recording

Receivers Wireless microphone

incorporate radio transmitter that send the signals to matching receivers

The receiver in turn are cabled to the camcorder or separate audio recorder

Headphones Headphones are

essential for quality sound recording. like the viewfinder for video. Headphones let you preview what you are recording to check the quality or the way it sounds.

Quality The keys to good audio are distance and direction.

Place the mics as close to the subject as you can without getting into the picture.
