American Studies Faculty Representative Dennis Deslippe John A. Andrew III Award in History and American Studies -‐ The John A. Andrew III Award was established by the family, colleagues, and friends of Professor Andrew, who taught American History at Franklin & Marshall from 1973 until his death in 2000. Professor Andrew also led in the establishment of American Studies at the college and was deeply involved in the Lancaster community. The award recognizes a rising senior in History or American Studies who epitomizes the commitment to scholarship and service that Professor Andrew exemplified.
Susan V. Spina ‘17 The J. Fred and Nancy B. Sener Prize -‐ is presented to a student who has excellence in American Studies as deemed by the faculty of the department. The award is given by Marsha Sener Schuyler in honor of her parents.

The American Chemical Society Division of Organic Chemistry Award -‐ presented to an outstanding student in the two-‐semester organic chemistry sequence that intends to major in chemistry. Delia Pepper ‘16 Jerome Irving Bank Memorial Short Story Prize -‐ Established in 2003 by F&M alumnus Lawrence Henry Bank, Esq. ‘65 to honor and preserve the memory of his late brother, Jerome Irving Bank, Esq. Jerome Bank, a graduate of Hobart and the New York University School of Law, and who always wanted to be a writer, but died before realizing his dream. The award is given to the best work of short fiction.

A longtime employee of the College, she possessed a wealth of experience and told fabulous, hilarious stories.
