Fall, 2014

Learning about God’s character through

historical figures and miracles has always

held a fascination for me. But being the

main characters ourselves is truly a life-

changer. Few stories are woven over-

night; rather, they unfold one step at a

time. Our journey toward Ghana has

seemed to take us to the Red Sea, not

knowing where to turn, but it has become

a lesson in faith, waiting for the Lord to

open up the path. There have been few

words from us along the journey, for

which we apologize, as we seemed to hit

one wall after another, not knowing which

way to turn next. But we are now seeing

the path through the sea!

Our grateful thanks to those who have

prayed with us through this journey, and

the many who have faithfully supported

us as we have waited on Him to make

His way clear!!

Page 2: Really Going to Ghana

I woke up this morning

Saw a world full of trouble now

Thought, how'd we ever get so far

down

How's it ever gonna turn around

So I turned my eyes to Heaven

I thought, "God, why don't You do

something?"

Well, I just couldn't bear the thought

of

People living in poverty

Children sold into slavery

The thought disgusted me

So, I shook my fist at Heaven

Said, "God, why don't You do some-

thing?"He said,

"I did, I created you"

Chorus:

If not us, then who

If not me and you

Right now, it's time for us to do

something

If not now, then when

Will we see an end

To all this pain

It's not enough to do nothing

It's time for us to do something

What are our plans?? “Do Something!”

By Matthew West

Our departure is

set for January

10th, 2015. We

will land in Accra

where we will as-

sist the Ghanaian

staff with opera-

tions at the

WAMM Childrens

Home; seek to

establish a haven

for unexpectedly

expectant young

women; and seek

other opportunities

with West African

Mercy Ministries,

to bring hope to

the helpless. We

are also looking

forward to

teaming with William, an evangelist native to the slums of Accra, as

he holds kids’ clubs in and near the city slums to extend God’s mercy

through hope in Jesus. As Matthew West’s song suggests, it is not

enough to verbally care about the needy without taking action. It

seems we have been chosen to be His hands and feet there!

What are we waiting for?

We have seen God sell our Whitewater home in three days, and

our log home after waiting over six years! Now as we move

forward we have an offer from a Ghanaian couple to live in

their 3-bedroom/3-bath home for free!! All that remains is to

wait for His provision for partners who are unable to go them-

selves, but who will enable us to do so through their support.

Will you pray for us, please?? (We need about $2,200/month

of additional regular monthly commitments, plus about

$20,000 start up funds for travel, medicines, household sup-

plies and furnishings, water well, etc.) Also, please pray that

the Ebola virus will be stopped!

Thank you ahead for any prayers and gifts you desire and are

able to help us with!
