Reality of Georgian football

• Georgian football has great traditions. In 1981 Fc Dinamo Tbillisi won one of the most prestigious tournaments in Europe. Vitali Daraselia, scored decisive goal in final.

• Georgian national team played it’s first official game in may of 1990. Temur Qecbaia was one of the footballers in this team. Now he is coach of Georgian national team.

• In 1996 Georgia beat national team of Bulgaria 2-1 in Tbillisi. Giorgi Qinqladze and Shota Arveladze scored goals in this game.

• In 1999 Johan Boskamp was the first foreigner coach of Georgian national team. He is from holland.

• In 2011 Georgia beat national team of Croatia, who is considered to be very strong team. This win was one of the best moments in Georgian football’s history.

• Nowadays, Georgian football is on a course of development, however, national team have never played in major international tournament, such as world cup, or europe cup.
