RCIA – 2021-2022
(Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults – A Journey in Faith)
The RCIA program for St. Augustine & St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will be
on Wednesdays, beginning October 6 from 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm in the
Parish Social Hall.
The purpose and goal of RCIA is the preparation of individuals to enter
the Roman Catholic Church through the Sacrament of initiation
(Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist). However, RCIA is much
more, and so all are welcome to join us in the program, whether you are
a non-Catholic simply interested in learning more about Catholicism or
are a “cradle Catholic” in need of a “refresher” course in the faith.
Through this journey we will explore the beliefs and truths of our Catho-
lic faith with a focus on spiritual growth. It will be enjoyable, informative,
and spiritually rewarding for all participants, in a non-pressured environ-
ment.
We are also in need of sponsors who will assist the RCIA candi-
dates seeking initiation into Church, on their spiritual journey.
Please call the Parish Office to register if you would like to attend.
We will need your name, phone number and email address (if available)
when you call.
The new year
of Faith For-
mation will
continue to
be done virtually. Registration
forms are available in the Nar-
thex. Confirmation classes begin
at the end of Aug. All other
classes will begin in Sept.
Masses usually held Tues-Thur will be Communion Services for the du-
ration of Father Godfred’s vacation

Welcome our new Parish Administrative Assistant!!
Our current Secretary, Sherry Harrell, concludes her cherished services to the
parish family at the end of September 2021. She retired last year but has held on
to the fort throughout the year. She needs time to attend to family businesses and
so we cannot hold on to her, although we love to. However, Sherry has offered to
help the parish whenever the need arises. We are so grateful to her for her dedi-
cation and commitment to duty all these years.
We are privileged to have a replacement for Sherry in the person of Christy Gonzalez, a member of St. Eliza-
beth Ann Seton, Cairo. She is a mother of two and speaks both English and Spanish. Christy started work last
Monday and is very excited to be with us, and very enthusiastic about her new job. Find some time to stop by
the office to introduce yourself and welcome Christy Gonzalez, our new Secretary/Bookkeeper. Please offer
Christy all the support and cooperation she needs to work for our parish family. We wish both Sherry and
Christy the best in their transitions.
CCW will hold a meeting on Monday, August
23, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the church hall. The
restructure committee’s report will be shared with
members and a vote will be held. The vote will re-
sult in the continuation of CCW or exiting the pro-
gram. Please come, get information and vote.
After consulting with Fr. Godfred, we have decided to cancel this year's
rummage sale due to safety concerns. We have donated items that have
been in storage almost 2 years and would like to support our local chari-
ties with offering them our items. If you have a charity that would like us
to contact about receiving a donation of items, please contact Carolyn
Treadon ([email protected] or 850.445.9293) with the contact infor-
mation by 31 August.
