Introduction
Vampire stories never fail to fascinate me even before I started to love reading. The first
time I learned about vampires was way back in 2010, when I was in Grade 4. We watched The
3rd movie of Twilight series and since then, there was no looking back for me. After watching
Eclipse, I wonder what the first and second movies were all about so I asked my parents to buy
me the DVDs of Twilight and New Moon. I became hooked and sought to read the books. I
already read all four of the books, and watched the latest movie Breaking Dawn Part 1, and still
I hunger for more. I cannot wait to see the Part 2 because I already fell in love with Edward
Cullen and his vampire characteristics, I want to see how and where his adventures would turn
out.
My thirst for vampire stories did not end with Breaking Dawn. I guess, it just set-off my
love affair with the vampires. I discovered new books about vampires such as those authored
by Claudia Gray among other famous storytellers. The ones by Claudia Gray focused on
Bianca, an offspring of 2 vampires who was destined to be one herself. She fell in love with a
guy who was tasked to kill her kind, and since then there their journey as lovers was like a
rollercoaster ride.
There were still other materials about vampires that I watched and read. But the ones
that struck me the most are here in my research. The ones that inspired and initiated my lovefor reading not only about vampires but other matters in general are the main parts of this
paper. The most beautiful stories and characters, brought to life by the most talented of authors
are featured here. The ones that will become part of my cherished memories, continue to
shape me as an individual and determine where I am leading as a book lover are shown in this
humble yet moving piece.
Here, start to see for yourself what I mean..

New moon
On Bellas 18th birthday, Edward and his family throw her a birthday party. While
unwrapping a gift, she gets a paper cut, which causes Edwards adopted brother,Jasper, to be overwhelmed by her bloods scent and attempt to kill Bella . To protect her,
Edward told Bella that he does not love her and the Cullens move away from Forks.
This leaves Bella heartbroken and depressed.
In the months that follow, Bella learns that thrill-seeking activities allow her to
hear Edwards voice in her head. She also seeks comfort in her deepening friendship
with Jacob Black. Bella later discovers that Jacob and other tribe members are
werewolves. Jacob and his pack protects Bella from the vampire Laurent and also
Victoria.
Meanwhile, a series of miscommunication leads Edward to believe that Bella
has killed herself. Distraught over her supposed suicide, Edward flees to Volterra, Italy
to provoke the Volturi. Alice and Bella rush to Italy to save Edward, arriving just in time

to stop him. When they got home, Jacob reminds Edward about an important piece in
the treaty: if any of the Cullens bite a human, the treaty is over.
Edward was here, with his arms around me. I could face anythingas long as that was true. I squared my shoulders and walked forwardto meet my fate, with my destiny solidly at my side.

Eclipse
As Edward and Bella apply to colleges, Bella explains to Edward her desire to
see her friend, Jacob Black, a werewolf. Although Edward fears for her safety, Bella
insists that neither Jacob nor his wolf pack would ever harm her, and she begins visiting
him occasionally. On one of these visits, Jacob tells Bella that he is in love with her and
wants her to choose him instead of Edward, but Bella says she just sees him as a
friend. To that, Jacob forcibly kisses her and she reacts by punching him in the face,
breaking her hand while not even leaving a scratch on him. Meanwhile, Alice Cullen
has a vision that Victoria has returned to Forks. A few days later, Edward proposes to
Bella and, despite harboring an aversion to marriage, she accepts.
Bella and the Cullens soon realize that the Seattle murders are being committed
by an "army" of newborn vampires, controlled by Victoria. The Cullens join forces with
the wolf pack to combat this threat. As everyone else prepares for battle, Edward, Bella
and Jacob camp in the mountains, hidden during the battle, where they are later joined

by Seth Clearwater to wait out the fight. In the morning, Jacob becomes upset when he
overhears Edward and Bella discussing their engagement and threatens to join the fight
and get himself killed. Bella stops Jacob by kissing him, and she comes to realize that
she is in love with him as well. During the battle, Victoria tracks Edward's scent to
Bella's forest hiding place, and Edward is forced to fight. Edward manages to kill
Victoria and her vampire army is destroyed. Afterwards, Bella explains to Jacob that
while she loves him, her love for Edward is greater. After receiving a wedding invitation
from Edward, Jacob runs away in his wolf form to escape his heartbreak over Bella's
rejection.
Ive chosen my life now I want to start livingit.

Breaking dawn
Book 1
Bella had finally had the courage to tell her father, that she is engaged, Charlie
just assumed that Bella was pregnant. He laughed hysterically when he realized how
Bella's mother, Renee would react. But Bella's Mom took the news well, and even offer
to help with the wedding plans!
The wedding then comes and goes rather quickly, and the book speeds into the
honeymoon. Edward takes her to Isle Esme, a present from Carlisle to Esme, off the
coast of Brazil. Edward also grants Bella's wish and makes love to her. The next day
they argue because Edward's passion leaves dark bruises all over Bella's body. Although

Bella doesn't care about the injuries, he insists that they spend their days doing tiring
activities to make her too tired for anything at night. Meanwhile, she has a dream about
a small, green-eyed boy that she feels compelled to protect. Bella also finds herself
constantly hungry and sick. It is only until she sees a box of unused tampons that she
packed and she realized that she is pregnant. She automatically becomes attached tothe baby, even thought it will kill her, and Edward becomes worried. They rush home to
the Cullen mansion, but Bella has called upon Rosalie to help protect her baby, so
Edward is not allowed to go through with an abortion.
You and me. Thats the only thing that matters. The only thing
youre allowed to think about now. Do you hear me?

Breaking dawn
Book 2
This book is told from Jacob's perspective.
He gets the news of Edward and Bella's return, and that Carlisle has told Charlie
that Bella is quarantined because she has contracted a rare disease in South America.
Jacob assumes that Bella has been bitten and transformed. He is upset when Sam
Uley, Alpha of the pack, declares that the pack will not retaliate. Jacob, full of rage,
decides that if the pack will not retaliate collectively, he will act by himself. He runs to
the Cullen house. When he arrives, he discovers that things aren't what he thought.

Bella, as opposed to being a newborn vampire, is already heavily pregnant with
Edward's child.
The child breaks free and Bella is almost dead. Edward delivers the baby, a girl,Renesmee, and begins to transform Bella into a vampire. He injects his venom into her
heart and bites her in several places. Jacob and Edward perform CPR to try to keep
Bella's heart beating. Then, thinking that Bella is dead, Jacob leaves the room and goes
on a rampage to find the baby to try and kill it. He finds her in Rosalie's arms and looks
into the baby's eyes. They are exactly the same shade of brown as Bella's. Then, Jacob
imprints on her.
You know her, Jacob. You connect to her on a level that I dont even understand. You are part of her,and she is part of you.

Breaking dawn
Book 3
The third section shifts back to Bella's perspective, describing Bella's painful
transformation and finding herself changed into a vampire and enjoying her new life and
abilities. However, the vampire Irina misidentifies Renesmee as an "immortal child", a
child who has been turned into a vampire. Because "immortal children" are
uncontrollable, creating them has been outlawed by the Volturi. After Irina presents her
allegation to the Volturi, they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullens. In an attempt
to survive, the Cullens gather other vampire clans from around the world to stand as
witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child. Upon

confronting the gathered Cullen allies and witnesses, the Volturi discover that they have
been misinformed and immediately execute Irina for her mistake. However, they remain
undecided on whether Renesmee should be viewed as a threat to vampires' secret
existence. At that time, Alice and Jasper, who had left prior to the confrontation, return
with a Mapuche called Nahuel, a 150-year-old vampire-human crossbreed like
Renesmee. Nahuel demonstrates that the crossbreeds pose no threat, and the Volturi
leave. Edward, Bella, and Renesmee return to their home in peace.
Now you know. No ones ever loved anyone as much as I love you.

STEPHENIE MEYERS
THEORY
1. Vampires sparkle in the sunlight.
Edward in the sunlight was shocking. . . His skin, white despite the faint
blush from yesterdays hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny
-

diamonds were embedded in the surface. . . A perfect statue, carved in
some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal.
2. They are as hard as a rock and as cold as ice.
3. Fire could completely destroy them.
4. Some vampires have special abilities like mind reading.
5. Supernatural enemy: werewolves
Your great-grandfather? I encouraged.
He was a tribal leader, like my father. You see, the cold ones are the
natural enemies of the wolf --- well, not the wolf, really, but the wolves that
turn into men, like our ancestors. You call them werewolves.
Werewolves have enemies?
Only one.
I stared at him earnestly, hoping to disguise my impatience as admiration.
18.
CLAUDIA GRAYS
THEORY
1. Wooden stakes temporarily kill them.
-
7/30/2019 Reading Research VAMPIRES
23/25
We were wondering about this the other day, actually. What are the other
ways? That vampires can die, I mean? Lucas asked.
Well, lets see, Dad said. Pretty short list, actually.
Stakes, Lucas said firmly. Thats what they show in TV, anyway.
Idiot box, Patrice murmured. Stakes kill us, but only temporarily. Once
a stake is pulled out, youll be fine again in no time.
2. Holy Water burns them.
3. They dont like being inside a chapel or a church.
A church --- ugh. Vampires dont burst into flames upon touching a cross,
the way horror movies like to suggest, but that doesnt make churches a
fun place to be. I felt slightly dizzy and turned my head away from the
shape of the cross.
I cant stay here. Is there someplace else I can go?
4. Fire destroys them faster than humans.
5. The sunlight doesnt do anything to them.
6. Supernatural enemy: some wraiths (a kind of ghost)
Black Cross (a group of vampire hunters)
19.
conclusionEvery new book, every new chapter, every new page have given me the
opportunity to learn more about my beloved subjects, their authors, and their stories.
-
7/30/2019 Reading Research VAMPIRES
24/25
By reading and watching them, I was able to enter their world and felt that I was
actually existing with them. The authors were so vivid in painting a picture of them in
my mind, and my love for them has grown even more.
I learned about the vampires characters, appearances, individualities, emotions
and dreams. I learned that vampires are like human in the way they interact and love.
They fall in love like the rest of us do, get hurt and yearn for acceptance and
belongingness. They do normal stuff like go to school, play sports, dance, and party
like every normal being does.
In this sense, I conclude that we have to treat everybody and everything withdignity and respect as we would want to be treated. One does not have to be rich nor
beautiful, nor intelligent to be given special attention. One does not have to be a
vampire, nor an extraordinary being, nor a superhero to be revered. No person or
animal, nor thing deserves to be looked down upon.
Everybody has the right to love and be loved, admire and be admired, accept
and be accepted, be friends with whoever he likes, every minute of his life. Just as we
all have the right to live and be ourselves. As God made each of us unique and special.
