READY, SET—READING OLYMPICS!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are running a Reading Olympics in our classroom! Together we are

reading, role-playing, representing countries, preparing character profi les

and completing story summaries—all during a unit of work full of Olympics-

related reading activity and fun.

Your child will be asked to continue their Reading Olympics at home

by fi lling in a ‘Training Sessions’ reading log. And, if they complete

their Reading Olympics Passport by reviewing three books available on

Scholastic Book Clubs Issues 4, 5 and 6, they will receive a $6 gift voucher

to spend on any Issue 7 or 8 Book Club in 2008.
