ELIGIBILITYThe Sweepstakes is open only to legal resi-dents of the United States who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry (the “Entrant” or “Entrants”). Employees, contractors or interns of GateHouse Media, Inc. and The Examiner (together, “Gate-House Media”), and the businesses appearing on this page (the “Sponsors”), and each of their respective divisions, affiliates, par-ent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (including, in each case, immediate family members) are not eligible

to enter the Sweepstakes. For purposes of this Sweepstakes, “immediate family members” is defined as spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws”, or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension, and any other persons resid-ing at the same household location, whether or not related. In order to enter the Sweepstakes or win the prize, the Entrant must comply fully with these Official Rules (the “Rules”), and by entering agrees to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects.

HOW TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES;

SWEESPTAKES RULESThere are two ways to enter this Sweepstakes:

1. Entry Form. The Readers Choice ballot (the “Ballot” or “Ballots”) and entry form for the Sweepstakes (together, the “Entry Ma-terials) is available in the Publication or at the offices of the Publication beginning Monday, October 1, 2012. The office of the Publication is located at 410 South Liberty, Street, Inde-pendence, MO. The completed Entry Materials should be submitted to the offices of the Publication one of the following two (2) ways: (a) Postal Mail: Entrants should mail the Entry Materials to the Publication OR (b) Hand-Deliver: Entrants should hand-deliver the Entry Materials to the Publication. The offices of the Publication are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. CST, and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

2. Online. Entrants should visit www.exam-iner.net (the “Website”) during the Sweep-stakes Period, navigate to the Sweepstakes icon, complete the entry form with the required contact information, submit votes on the Ballot according to the instructions and submit the

entry as directed (the “Entry” or “Entries”).

In order to be entered in the Sweepstakes, Entrants must vote in every category on the Ballot.

One (1) entry per person will be accepted dur-ing the Sweepstakes Period. Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m.CST on Friday, October 19th, 2012 in order to be eligible (the “Entry Deadline”). No entries will be accepted after this time.

GateHouse Media will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage due, misdirected or illegible entries.

Entries will not be accepted through e-mail or facsimile. Entries made with multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities or through the use of any agent or other device to enter multiple times will be deemed invalid. The use of any automated system to submit entries is prohibited and will result in disqualification of all such entries as well as the Entrant.

RANDOM DRAWING; ODDS OF WINNING; WINNER NOTIFICATIONOne (1) potential winner (the “Winner”) will be selected in a random drawing to be held on or about Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from all eligible entries received by the Entry Deadline. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received and how the entries meet the criteria established for this Sweepstakes. The Winner will be notified by phone and/or e-mail on or around Thursday, October 25, 2012 in ac-cordance with the contact information supplied with the entry. The potential prize winner must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release in order to be eligible to accept the prize.

PRIZESA total of one (1) prize will be awarded in this Sweepstakes. The Winner will receive a gift certificate (ARV = $50.00)

No substitution or transfer of the prize will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of Gate-House Media. GateHouse Media reserves the right to substitute the prize of equal or greater value. The reporting and payment of all local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
