Planet Earth was founded by pro-skateboarder Chris Miller in 199 0. Hispassion for both art and skateboarding has led to the creation of one ofthe most recognizable brands in the skate, surf, and snow industry.

I started Planet Earth with the intention of creating a quality brandthat endorsed and promoted all the aspects of board sports that I love. Asa kid, skateboarding was my deepest passion. It was so much more thanjust a sport, it was a portal for physical, emotional and creative energyand inspiration. Its not an overstatement to say that it was medita-tive and even spiritual at times. The act of skateboarding, the pure joyof movement and weightlessness, the c lear and real boundaries of natureand the price you pay when they are crossed, brought balance and clar-ity to my life . As I grew up, I found that surfing and snowboarding of-fered the same kind outlet and energy with the additional benefit of beingin nature. I gravitated toward those activitiesduring breaks in my pro

skateboarding schedule. Once I retired from competitive skateboarding I found my life revolving around my passion for board sports,art, designand nature. My business l ife is simply an extension of this l i festyle. Thefocus of my career has been on creating products that enhance the experi-ence of the user. My goal with Planet Earth was always to be a companythat supports and empowers people who are dedicated to a lifestyle that i s

integrated in and around action sports, art, design and nature.

Each year all Montana snowboarders and skiers are treated to some pre-season manmade snow and jibs, compliments of a litt le place known as Great Divide just outside of

Helena. They always throw a big open entry contest and then just let kids get t heir fixsessioning the line of j ibs. The morning after the event we went back up for a few more

hours on snow. After finding the contest l ine to be pretty blown out, we retreated to thispatch of snow just at the base. There was something so unique about watching Tyr el

and Phil session this dinky litt le box on a mini patch of snow in a s ea of dry ground. Itseemed an example of true dedication to ones passions. Knowing the amazing terrain

and snow these guys are privileged to ride each year, yet finding them stil l stoked t o ses-

sion this. I fe lt obligated to do my best to document it wholly.

Recycled Cotton is collected from clothing

S.Caf utilizes coffee grounds naturalability to absorb odors for

a comfortable wearing experience. It alsoprovides UVA & UVB

protection, and is very fast drying.

Coffee grounds that have been added into thefiber are collected

from coffee shops. After brewing, they aregenera lly taken as waste.

We were on an MS P shoot in Haines in February (2008), which was the earliest I ve everbeen to AK. The days were short, but the sun was low in the sky so the light was i ncredible all day long. We were set up here shooting skiers on a heavily rimed south face that hadgreat powder and really unique features. I was so mesmerized by this big face in front ofus that I almost didnt notice the cool l ight and lines in the s now around Scott, who wasstanding about 200 yards away from me. Thats the beauty of Alaska, you can be set upto shoot the most incredible shot youve ever seen, and then you turn around to see anotherequally beautiful shot that you hadnt noticed before. You have to keep your eyes open toall possibilities.

We were enjoying our last days in North

Am erica, skiing the trees in heavy snow-fall at Baker. Its crazy being somewherefor that many days and not seeing whatsaround you. Weather was predicting f latl ight for our last day so that night we ce l- ebrated the great trip at a local restaurant.

After a few hours of sleep I woke up to myfriend screaming Its sunny! so we hadto get back up to the mountain to ski s ome-thing e lse.

Each year all Montana snowboarders and skiers are

treated to some pre-season man made snow and jibs,

compliments of a little place known as Great Divide just

outside of Helena. They always throw a big open entry

contest and then just let kids get their fix sessioning the line

of jibs. The morning after the event we went back up for

a few more hours on snow. After finding the contest lineto be pretty blown out, we retreated to this patch of snow

just at the base. There was something so unique about

watching Tyrel and Phil session this dinky little box on a

mini patch of snow in a sea of dry ground. It seemed an

example of true dedication to ones passions. Knowing the

amazing terrain and snow these guys are privileged to ride

each year, yet finding them still stoked to session this. I felt

obligated to do my best to document it wholly.
