Records of the Orleans Parish Landmarks Commission, a New Orleans preservation organization.

Chartered by the Louisiana Legislature in 1957, the OPLC designated historic structures in Orleans

Parish and marked them with plaques describing their history and significance. The records include

write-ups for plaques, research notes, and original photographic negatives showing many of the

completed plaques after installation.

PROVENANCE

Records were given by the Orleans Parish Landmarks Commission to Tulane in 1985. Additions

are given on an irregular basis.
