WELCOME / INTRODUCTION

PRESIDENT

OF THE WORLD KARATE FEDERATION

ANTONIO ESPINOS

I want to extend a very warm welcome to all participants in this new edition of the Premier League

in Salzburg, and also a special one to the President of the Austrian Federation George

Russbacher. Salzburg has been present since the first edition of the WKF Premier League and

has significantly contributed to its success and consolidation. This year all the worldwide Karate

community will travel again to Austria for the World Championships of Linz in October, and this

means that this year Austria and the Austrian Karate Federation are going to be the reference in

the two WKF flagship projects, thanks to the dynamic work and performance of its Federation

and President.

PRESIDENT

OAR GEORG RUßBACHER

Dear ladies and gentlemen

Dear friends of Karate

From 15th to 17th of April 2016 the “Karate1 Premier League“ will be held in the city of Salzburg.

Once again there will be many athletes from all over the world participating in this great

tournament.

Such major events can only be made possible with the help of all the volunteers of the Salzburg

Karate Association. Therefore my special thanks go to all these volunteers for their active support.

I also want to thank the city of Salzburg and its mayor Dr. Heinz Schaden, the

Landessportorganisation Salzburg, our sponsors and the World Karate Federation (WKF), with

its president Antonio Espinós, which has once again honored us with the organisation of this

event.

Finally, I wish all the competitors a pleasant stay in Salzburg as well as an exciting, successful

and most of all injury-free competition.

Georg Rußbacher
