LOCATION

T he Straits of Malacca are bordered by Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. They are of enormous strategic importance to global trade because they provide the shortest commercial sea route between Asia and Europe as

well as the three most populous countries of India, China and Indonesia. More than 50,000 commercial vessels transit this 621 mile long sea channel annually and at certain parts of the voyage, ships of up to Malaccamax size are within 10 miles of One Fathom Bank and Port Klang on the Malaysian mainland. The company operates with a cost-effective fleet of helicopters from Subang Skypark, Kuala Lumpur and aerial camera teams can reach the main shipping lanes within 20 mins from take off. The sailing time between Singapore and Port Klang, the entrepôt for Kuala Lumpur, can vary from 18-24 hours. The company has the capability to fly offshore from different airports to find ships sailing off both the east and the west coast of the Malaysian Peninsular. D uring the 2012 London Olympic Games Laurie, who was working on his 3rd Olympic Sailing assignment for Olympic Broadcast Services, displayed his knowledge of competitive sailing and excellence with the Cineflex Camera System. Operating from

an AS355 helicopter at 500-1000 feet, Laurie’s coverage of our event did not go unnoticed. His solid performance offshore over 14 long shooting days, coupled with a can-do attitude made my job as the live director easier and enjoyable. I would not hesitate to refer Laurie K. O n November 2012, the IOC announced in Lausanne that for the second consecutive time the Olympic Sailing Television Team had been awarded the prestigious Golden Rings Gold Award for the Best

Sports Coverage of the 2012 London Olympic Games. Laurie K Gilbert operated as a helicopter aerial cameraman for both award winning teams in Beijing and in London.

T he Geneva based company MSC is now the world’s largest and the most successful privately owned, container

shipping company. In 2012 Aerial Marine Media were part of an international television team from Lifestyle International NY who circumnavigated the globe to shoot video material for MSC corporate communications and advertising requirements. The crew travelled throughout Italy, Belgium, Holland, Cyprus, Turkey, China, Switzerland, Brazil, South Africa, India, Tunisia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia to shoot port facilities, management interviews, cultural imagery and complex aerials. The digital HD video material was then edited in New York into multiple productions to match the business requirements of each operating divisions of MSC.

T erminal Investments Ltd SA were founded in 2000 to secure berths and terminal capacity in major ports used

by Mediterranean Shipping Company worldwide. In 2013 Aerial Marine Media again supplied cinematography services to Lifestyle Interna-tional NY as they travelled to Africa and the Middle East to shoot the development of three new ports in Saudi Arabia, Togo and Turkey. The team interviewed executives, engineers, administrators and government officials who then described both the challenges and solutions in the construction of each new port. RECENT EQUIPMENT ADDITIONS

Highly modified and improved ATM Gyro Mount with 2 x Kenlab K8 gyros capable of stabilizing conventional video cameras up to 15-20 lbs in an aerial environment. External monitor mount and remote zoom control. Highly portable, fast installation, no aviation l icense is required and extremely cost effective.

Schwem Gyro Lens: A unique concept of lens that fits on a conventional broadcast camera but an internal gyro allows the operator to provide rock stable, long lens imagery whilst hand holding a camera in heavy seas or in a vibrating helicopter. The lens is 60-300 mm and it is the device that pioneered the television coverage of offshore yacht racing. Aerial Marine Media have more than 25 year experi-ence using the Schwem.

V14 Cineflex HD helicopter camera mount - Australia based: state of the art Cineflex camera which can be side mounted to a cost effective Robinson R44 or nose mounted to the larger AS355 helicopters operating from Subang Airport. Capable of the most complex, stable HD motion picture aerial sequences for both cinema and television.
