Reaction Paper: Scientific Research Capability Enhancement WorkshopFrom the talk of Sir Percival Almoro which is about writing publishable scientific papers, it was pointed out that in publishing or even doing academic scientific papers one must consider that its references must be peer reviewed. Peer reviewed journals are more reliable source. Also, when planning to work for scientific paper make sure that your study/research methodology or study plan was never done by anyone because it will become useless. Furthermore, when publishing a scientific paper one has the responsibility that the result of its study must be helpful to general public. For us Applied Mathematics students who are major in operations research we can be involve in researches such as planning or forecasting the population of the students for the next years. Private companies can also be the potential avenue for us depending on the area which we will be assigned. Besides, scientific mentoring could help students to be more guided in their special problem. Such scientific mentoring improves the work of the student and gives more idea to study of the student.For future purposes, I think it is advantageous whenever a student have a publication listed on his/her resume. This just shows that he/she can be an asset to their company especially if they assign him/her to the research program of the company. Moreover, the company would benefit from the knowledge of the student research. Additionally these published scientific papers can be advantageous to any author depending on its future career.
