Early Childhood Department (Infant-Kindergarten)

THIS MORNING: All students (grades 7-12) are invited back to the youth roomfollowing the first service. This week we will meet in elemental worship during the 11am hour. Elemental worship/groups are designed as our weekly connect piece for students here at SNC.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: We have Pursuit Groups this Wednesday, December 9. Then, December 16th is our annual element Christmas party. We will meet during our regular Pursuit Group time. Each group will do a white elephant gift exchange. Please keep your gift around $5. We will also have music, games, food & an ugly Christmas sweater contest with some great prizes!

WINTER RETREAT: Our “facedown” ski retreat will be held Martin Luther Kingweekend, January 15-18, 2016. The base cost for this trip is $150 and goes up to $250 if lift ticket and snowboard rental is needed. Sign up at the Student Spot in the atrium. All paperwork must be turned in with a $100 deposit no later than December 15, 2015. Contact Holli Palmer at [email protected] for questions or additional information.

SWO NYI Almost New Year’s Eve Party is December 30th at Dave & Buster’s in TriCounty. Doors open at 11:30PM and close at midnight. The event ends at 6AM on Thursday, December 31. Cost is $45 and you must sign up and have your money turned in by Sunday, December 20th.

We start a new teaching series today called “All Wrapped Up”. We will be learning about God’s generosity and His call to us to be generous.

Kids Christmas Program: Be listening to your Christmas CD so your kids can learn the songs for our program next Sunday, December 13th. Early Childhood and Elementary kids will be involved. Also, there is a rehearsal this Saturday, December 12th, from 1-3PM. We need everyone at the rehearsal.

Midweek at SNC: There are two more Wednesday nights at SNC this year: December 9 & 16. Get ready for the Christmas Pajama Party on 12/16!!

Mittens for Missions: Please bring new mittens and gloves (kid and adult sizes) to the elementary department. They will be donated to the S.O.U.L. Pantry to help keep children and adults warm this winter. Help us meet our goal of 100 pairs!!

Share the Hope as a Saturday event for Elementary has been cancelled due toscheduling issues.

Senior Adult Ministries

A Christmas Celebration! This ticketed event is THIS TUESDAY at Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center! Are you uncertain of the route to this event? Pick up a MAP to HGCRC at the CRC! (From the church, allow at least 35 minutes.) Hors d’oeuvres begin at 5:45PM; the event begins at 6:30PM. If you have not yet paid for the event, please leave a check or cash with the attendant at the Sanctuary Information Center. If you have registered to ride the bus and have not paid, you can pay $5 today at the Information Center. Pre-scheduled bus riders please note that the bus departs from SNC promptly at 5PM; plan to arrive a few minutes ahead of time!

Terrific Third Thursday! is December 17th! Walk at 11:30AM, enjoy our traditional ham/turkey lunch at 12:15PM, and then at 1:15 PM, we’ll enjoy a special DVD Christmas concert by The Isaacs, a multi-award winning group that blends tight, family harmony with contemporary acoustic instrumentation! The Isaacs regularly appear on the Grand Ole Opry, at Gaither Homecoming events, on the Dove Awards, and are in concerts across the USA and around the world...including performing the national anthem at a Bengals game! There will be a giveaway of some Isaacs products as well!!

The young adult class now meets in room 205 during the second service. All 18-29rs are welcome to join us!

THE GIVE THANKS CONCERT was professionally recorded and DVD’s will be available for purchase. Watch for ordering information soon.

TITHE ENVELOPES: 2016 tithe envelopes will be available for pick-up starting this Wednesday, December 9, across from the CRC. If you have not received tithe envelopes before and would like them, please call Becky Pritts at the church office. Please note - using your tithe envelopes will help us keep accurate and confidential records of your giving. Please always identify your giving with your assigned tithe number. 2015 contributions must be received or postmarked on or before Thursday, December 31, 2015 in order to receive credit for 2015 giving.

SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS: Last call! We are collecting adult-sized socks again this year for those served by Target Dayton Ministries. Last year, a total of 944 pairs of socks were donated by area schools, radio stations & SNC. Please place new socks in the blue barrel located in the Atrium through TODAY. Paul Powell hopes to deliver an entire truckload of socks to our friends at Target Dayton.

THANK YOU! The SNC Military Support Group would like to thank everyone who baked cookies for our military families. We had an overwhelming response and were able to fill the boxes with a variety of cookies! Thank you for helping us recognize our brave men and women who serve our country.

CANNED MEAT NEEDED: Each of the churches that make up Tri-County SOULMinistries has been asked to request donations of a specific item during a six-week period. SNC was assigned “canned meat” - specifically, canned tuna, chicken, or salmon. Please place your donations in the bin located by the Serve Spot in the Atrium. Thank you!

GUATEMALA MEDICAL/CONSTRUCTION W&W TRIP: There will be a short informational meeting for this trip next Sunday, December 13, from 12:10 - 12:40. If you are interested in this trip scheduled for June 12-19, 2016, but are unable to attend the meeting, email Don Roe at [email protected].

ARE YOU MISSING YOUR BIBLE? There are a number of Bibles at the Sanctuary Information Desk that have been left here over the past couple of months. Stop by and see if one of them belongs to you!

SAVE THE DATE: “The Thrive Gathering”, a women’s conference sponsored by SWO District Women’s Ministries, will take place January 22-23, 2016 at West Chester Church of the Nazarene. Watch for details!
