“Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.” -St. Francis of Assisi

We believe we are called to be the church, the hands and feet of Jesus, serving our local and global community. Covenant Church strategically partners with local, national and global organizations to: mobilize leaders, raise awareness, and build communities. We make a difference with our partners through various efforts. You can partner with us, pray for our missions efforts, give to further the Gospel into the world, or go and be the physical “boots on the ground,” as we say in Texas.

It was incredibly saddening to have to throw away so many memories,

possessions, and photo albums that were moldy or non-repairable. I was

blessed enough to have been able to pull apart some pictures that were

still wet in an attempt to save them! I have never fully understood the

phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” until now. I feel like I know

this family’s entire history just through these photos. I’m so blessed to be

down in Houston with @eightdaysofhope on behalf of @covlive.” -Annabelle

Covenant Church has been active in mobilizing volunteers to assist in RESCUE and RECOVERY efforts by providing disaster relief.

DREAM CENTER

Philip and Renee Murdoch, with Light to the Nations, purchased a 6.3 acre site in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. They’ve opened the Rio Dream Center as a focal point in building others and assisting them to achieve God’s destiny for their lives.

They offer job training, work ethics classes, food and clothing distribution, eyeglasses distribution to children, soccer school, swimming lessons, ballet, music school, and housing for women rescued from human trafficking. They have a fully functioning dental clinic for the community, and have started building their volunteer base to house a medical optometrist clinic! The auditorium they are currently in is their 5th campus with another one on the way.

The Nancy Lieberman Charities is an organization

committed to promoting and developing healthy

lifestyles and educational opportunities for young

girls and boys. Students are supported with

basketball camps, clinics, Dream Courts, college

scholarships, and school supply programs,

throughout the United States.

The Dream Courts aim to make basketball more

accessible to kids, as well as to provide a

safe environment for kids to play. Dream Courts

offer children in underprivileged communities

an inexpensive recreational alternative, a safe

place to play basketball, interact socially, and

learn the importance of teamwork and good

sportsmanship.

Covenant Church has currently supported two

Dream Courts. The first, in Carrollton, with its

grand opening on November 20, 2017, at 6 pm

at Martha Pointer Park (2100 Rockwood Dr.,

Carrollton, TX 75007), and the second in Flagstaff,

AZ, opening in 2018.

SURGE PROJECTCHURCH PLANTING

The Surge Project is focused exclusively on planting reproducing churches that start Christian communities and train disciples across the globe. Their needs-based initiatives tackle issues like orphan care, water wells, and medical aid. Out of every 100 churches the project plants, 99 are “Significant” churches in rural areas. A local pastor who is fluent in the language in rural areas is supported in the first year to travel into the rural area, create an opportunity for bi-vocational income, and build a local church. Covenant Church has partnered with the Surge Project social entrepreneurship opportunity by purchasing motorbikes for pastors. The motorbike enables the pastor to travel into and around the community, create bi-vocational income because it is a means to create a taxi service, and ultimately build a church. Currently, Covenant Church has supported 30 pastors with motorbikes and helped them build 30 churches. The Surge Project churches have over 1.1 million people in attendance each weekend in more than 22,000 churches.

I want to give all the thanks and glory to my Lord and Savior for all that

He has done for me. I was broken, at a point in time of my life where I felt

like there was nothing to live for, but His grace saved me. I was raped

at the age of 13, and it escalated from there. I became promiscuous

and felt the need to always be with a man. I turned to stripping, which

resulted in getting pimped out. This was the hardest thing in my life to

go through, but the ministry of Restored Hope helped me to overcome

these hardships of my life.

God has worked through me to become a stronger woman and to

overcome the turmoil that was going on in my life. The ministry helped

me to see who I am in Christ and actually believe that I’m worthy and not

worthless. I thank the Lord for restoring me and allowing me to overcome

the hardships that were going on at that point in time of my life. God

restores everything which was lost, and I can’t explain the joy that He has

given me throughout this journey. -Tyreesh

GARDENOFGETHSEMANE

The Garden of Gethsemane is the olive garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives where Jesus prayed, and His disciples slept the night before Jesus’ crucifixion. Admission to the Garden of Gethsemane is free, and maintenance of the Garden in years past was funded solely by the donations of visitors to the site. The importance of the Garden to the State of Israel as a tourist site cannot be overstated. Beginning in 2015, Covenant Church assumed the unique and excellent privilege of funding 100% of the annual maintenance costs of the Garden of Gethsemane.

The Dream Doctors Project is a unique program that provides medical clowns, “Dream Doctors,” who are integrated into hospitals in Israel to bring comedic and therapeutic impact to children undergoing treatment and medical care. The Dream Doctors raise the spirits and the hopes of the children and even have a morale-boosting effect on the hospital staff and caregivers as well.

Dream Doctors are medically trained to participate in more than 40 various medical procedures including taking blood samples and other complex procedures such as injections directly into the joints, burn therapies, and accompanying child victims of sexual abuse during examinations. Scientific research studies have proven that the presence of a medical clown helps reduce the anxiety of the child, patient, and family, lessens pain and alleviates depression, and sometimes makes it unnecessary to use sedation.
