3rd ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF RULES AND APPLICATION

Cooking rules:

Single entry or teams welcome, team max, 5 people. Max. size booth is 10’ wide x 10’ deep. Set

up location will be on a first come basis. Contestants must furnish own ingredients, equipment,

utensils and fuel. Power will not be supplied, contestants are encouraged to bring propane cook

tops. All contestants are responsible for the maintenance of its proper temperature for serving.

Wolf Creek will provide spoons and cups for serving to the general public and of course napkins.

Judges choice:

There will be 3 judges, they will be looking for taste, aroma, texture, after taste and heat of

chili. (Heat of chili will not necessarily determine the winner; so feel free to make your chili as

mild or hot as you desire) There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prize, given by the judges. 1st

place will receive 60%, 2nd place 25% and 3rd place 15%.

People’s choice:

1st Place People’s choice winner will be awarded a Wolf Creek basket with growlers, logo pint

glasses, t-shirts and Wolf Creek gift certificates. Our 1st place winners of both will also have a

spot on our annual “Chili Cook Off” plaque that will be displayed in our tasting room.

Entry:

The entry fee will be $25.00 per chili entered. Contestants may enter more than 1 batch of chili.

Ingredients:

Use your favorite recipe, with or without meat, with or without beans. Meat may be beef, pork,

lamb, chicken or turkey (no wild meats). Veggie (meatless chili) is okay. Beans are encouraged

but not mandatory. Ingredients may be cut, shredded or ground to any size. Please have a list

of the meats used for allergy purposes. If peanuts or peanut oil is used, please display a warning

sign. You may NOT use can, store bought chili or mixes. Pre-cooked beans are okay. All

ingredients must be pre cooked & treated prior to the event, chili is to be brought “ready to

eat”. You must bring your own condiments.

Chili rules:

Each contestant must cook a minimum of 3 gallons of chili. The judges will be tasting the chili at

4:00pm so you must have enough to last. Each contestant or team will be given a “contestants

number”. Your number will be visible to the public. The public voters each get 3 votes to be

dropped into a ballet box. The more people you bring or know the better chance you have of

winning the Wolf Creek gift basket.

Raffle:

We will be raffling off Free Beer for a Year, $2.00 per raffle ticket. Half the proceeds will go to

charity & half to the winning pot.

Chili Cook off schedule:

Set-up: 12:00pm- bring your chili and set up your booth. You may decorate your booth however

you would like! Feel free to promote your business at your booth!

Tasting: 1:00-4:00pm- people may taste and vote for the whole 3 hours, please bring plenty of

chili!

Award ceremony: 5:00pm
