Publicizing a project Publicizing a project Publicizing a project Publicizing a project
All community service projects need to include a detailed
public relations plan. Sharing a project’s message with the
community can help enhance Rotary’s image, gain
sponsors and volunteers, and attract qualified candidates
for Rotary club membership.
Making the community aware of your club’s work and
convincing large segments of the local population to
support it requires planning. Thorough public relations
campaigns cover the entire length of the project. At the
outset, they help illustrate the club’s vision, recruit
volunteers, and initiate partnerships. When the project is
launched, they highlight its timeliness and the importance
and relevance of its mission. Continued communication
throughout the project sustains its message, and publicity
that concentrates on the effort’s success enhances the
club’s credibility in the community.

Using the Rotary name, emblem, and other RI trademarks
(known collectively as the Rotary Marks) in project
publicity is an excellent way to promote Rotary’s mission.
Just make sure the promotional materials clearly identify
the Rotary club or district that planned and implemented
the project and that all Rotary Marks adhere to RI and
Rotary Foundation guidelines.
