Day 1 – DEPART USABoard your overnight flight to Nuremberg, Germany.

Day 2 – ARRIVE IN NUREMBERG, GERMANY – EMBARKATIONBoard your cruise in Nuremberg. Tonight, meet your fellow passengersat the Welcome Dinner. The ship will moor overnight in Nuremberg.

Day 3 – NUREMBERG, CONTINENTAL DIVIDEYou have two city tour options today. Enjoy a guided morning tour of thishistoric city with its fabulous Gothic churches and see the medievalramparts that surround the city as well as the Imperial Castle. You mayalso choose a WWII tour which takes you to the Justice Palace wherethe War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946, and other important wartime sights.Later, the ship cruises to Regensburg.

Day 4 – REGENSBURGThis morning’s scenic cruising takes you through the final stretch of theMain-Danube Canal to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best preservedmedieval cities. A guided walking tour will show you the city’s architecturalhighlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Praetoria, the gatesof an ancient Roman fort built in 179 A.D. In the afternoon, you are freeto join an optional excursion to beautiful Weltenburg Abbey, consideredthe oldest Benedictine monastery in Bavaria, traveling via the dramaticscenery of the Danube Gorge (seasonal availability).

Day 5 – PASSAU, LINZ, AUSTRIAAfter breakfast, arrive in picturesque Passau, where the Inn and Ilz riversjoin the Danube. You have your choice of two tours today; a Passauwalking tour or an optional excursion to Salzburg. Passau is a 2,000-year-old city noted for its Gothic and Italian Baroque architecture. Walkthe cobblestone streets of the Old Town past the old city fortificationsand St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to the largest pipe organ in the world.If you choose the optional Salzburg excursion, you will have a walkingtour of the historic center, familiar to millions as the setting for the “Soundof Music” and as the birthplace of Mozart. Enjoy free time on your ownbefore returning to the ship, now docked in Linz. After dinner, you maywish to take a walk through this delightful town, Austria’s third largestcity and a major river port.

Day 6 – MELK, VIENNAEarly this morning, we cruise through the scenic and romantic WachauValley en route to Melk. Your guided tour takes you to Melk’s magnificent900-year-old Benedictine Abbey, one of the world’s most famous monasticsites, located on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Danube. Return tothe ship for lunch before cruising on through the Wachau region. Arrivein Vienna after dinner and explore the magnificent Austrian capital onyour own, or enjoy an optional evening Mozart and Strauss concert.

Day 7 – VIENNASavor Vienna’s Baroque elegance on a guided city tour that includes theworld famous Opera House, the Ringstrasse, St. Stephen’s Cathedraland more. The tour is followed by free time in the city center to shop forsouvenirs or sample some of Vienna’s famous pastries. Alternatively, joinan optional excursion to the Imperial Schönbrunn Palace, the formersummer residence of the Habsburg emperors and a fine example ofBaroque architecture. Tonight, the ship continues down the Danube enroute to Hungary.

Day 8 – BUDAPEST, HUNGARYThis morning, a sightseeing tour takes you to historic Buda Castle, whereyou can enjoy a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest. Yourtour also features the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, St.Stephen’s Basilica, Heroes’ Square and more. After dinner, the ship willsail a special “Illuminations Cruise” past the city’s glittering riverfront.
