    THE DOVE welcomes the Year of the Sheep 2015

    Holy Spirit, partner organizations and voluntecelebrate Valentine’s Day by serving 1,500 less f

    tunate community members in medical mission

    Once again, RC Holy Spirit and partnersbrought free health care services andmedicines to members of depressed ar-eas in Barangay  Holy Spirit on February

    14, 2015 through the medical/dental/diagnostic mission sponsored by SMFoundation Inc dubbed Gamot Para saKapwa. RCHS coordinated the projectwith the Don Antonio Heights Homeown-ers Association (DAHHA) providing thevenue, security, logistical requirementsand food for over 90 volunteers. RCHSalso coordinated with various individualsand service partners that enabled themission to serve 1,517 indigent patients.PP Marcia, the overall Mission Coordina-tor, also took care of coordination withthe SM Foundation officials.

    Seventeen (17) medical doctors served 1,169adult and pediatric patients. IPP Dr Eui BongJung and Honorary Member PP Roger Bellezaand his family of doctors joined in providingmedical consultations. Six (6) of the doctorswere from the Don Antonio Heights community.SMFI had five (5) doctors. Rtn Mel Waje of RCCubao West also arranged for the participationof 4 doctors from the QC General Hospital.

    152 dental patients were served by thirteen (13)dentists led by Dr Marlene Martinez. Thanks tothe arrival of PP Terry Amado of sister club RCMarikina North D3800 who came with five (5)

    dentists, Dr Haroguardia of RC West, two (2) dfrom QCPD, and

    -friends of RCHS bers, the dental of the mission waspleted with amspeed. The QCPDtists came withJanet Homo oCamp Panopio, ha nurse, who brought doctorsnurses to the mIPP Janet is Policperintendent and the Health Serv

    QCPD.

    Medicines were provided by the SM Founpharmacy as prescribed by doctors andtists. Other diagnostic services availedthe beneficiaries were: x-ray  – 99; ECGFBS  –  29. Massage therapy was providseven (7) graduate-interns of I-Learn Cmanaged by Rtn Mel Waje of RC Cubao Also, 439 children received free popcornChummy Chum, brought in by SMFI, wmascot.

    Rotary Information - HISTORY OF ROTARY IN THE PHILIPPINES 

    Rotary was almost fourteenyears old when Leon J.Lambert, then one of theleading businessmen of Ma-nila and president of Lam-bert Sales Co., inspired bywhat he had heard of Ro-

    tary, started to correspondwith President John Pooleof the International Associa-tion of Rotary Clubs, now

    nown as Rotary International. As a result, on January2, 1919, Lambert entertained Rotarian Roger D. Pin-eo, a member of the Rotary Club of Seattle who hadeen sent to Manila with a commission to assist in therganization of Rotary Clubs in the Far East, at a lunch-on in his home in Pasay with Messrs. E. E. Elser,ames Geary, A. W. Beam and F. N. Berry, prominentusinessmen of Manila.

    In 1935, these three clubs were included in the diof China up to 1938, when the Philippine District No

    (changed to District 48, then to District 385, and noDistricts 379, 380, 382, 385, 386 and 387) was crea
