Caution: Always keep the muzzles pointed in a safe direction.

Prior to using live ammunition, familiarize yourself thoroughly with these operating

LOCATION OF THE SAFETY. On this shotgun the safety is positioned on the upper tang and is operated with one’s thumb. The safety is in the “on” position when drawn

to the rear exposing the word “SAFE” which is engraved in the upper tang.

When the safety is pushed forward covering the word “SAFE” the shotgun is ready to fi re.

Your RBL is equipped with an automatic safety, the safety will move to the “on” position each

WARNINGEnclosed are warnings that pertain to each state as of April 1, 2006Certain States require by law that their own specifi ed warning notices in larger than normal type be conspicuously included by the manufacturer, distributor, or retail dealer with fi rearms sold in that state.

California“Children are attracted to and can operate fi rearms that can cause sever injuries or death. Prevent child access by always keeping guns locked away and unloaded when not in use. If you keep a loaded fi rearm where a child obtains and improperly uses it, you can be fi ned or sent to prison.”

Connecticut“UNLAWFUL STORAGE OF A LOADED FIREARM MAY RESULT IN IMPRISONMENT OR FINE.”

Florida“IT IS UNLAWFUL, AND PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT AND FINE, FOR ANY ADULT TO STORE OR LEAVE A FIREARM IN ANY PLACE WITHIN REACH OR EASY ACCESS OF A MINOR UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE OR TO KNOWINGLY SELL OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OR POSSESSION OF A FIREARM TO A MINOR OR A PERSON OF UNSOUND MIND.”

FINE, IMPRISONMENT OR BOTH. KEEP FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION SEPARATE. KEEP FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION LOCKED UP. USE TRIGGER LOCKS.”

Maryland“WARNING: Children can operate fi rearms which may cause death or serious injury. It is a crime to store or leave a loaded fi rearm in any location where an individual knew or should have known that an unsupervised minor would gain access to the fi rearm. Store your fi rearm responsibly!”

Massachusetts“WARNING FROM THE MASSACHUSETTS ATTORNEY GENERAL: This handgun/rifl e is not equipped with a device that fully blocks use by unauthorized users. More than 200,000 fi rearms like this one are stolen from their owners every year in the United States. In addition, there are more than a thousand suicides each year by younger children and teenagers who get access to fi rearms. Hundreds more die from accidental discharge. It is likely that many more children sustain serious wounds, or infl ict such wounds accidentally on others. In order to limit the chance of such misuse, it is imperative that you keep this weapon locked in a secure place and take other steps necessary to limit the possibility of theft or accident. Failure to take reasonable preventive steps may result in innocent lives being lose, and in some circumstances may result in your liability for these deaths.”“IT IS UNLAWFUL TO STORE OR KEEP A FIREARM, RIFLE, SHOTGUN OR MACHINE GUN IN ANY PLACE UNLESS THAT WEAPON IS EQUIPPED WITH A TAMPER-RESISTANT SAFETY DEVICE OR IS STORED OR KEPT IN A SECURELY LOCKED CONTAINER.”

CAUTIONAttention to the direction the opening breach is

pointed is critical. Guns equipped with automatic ejectors will propel empty shells with surprising force

which can strike an eye or the face. To empty the fi red shells, press top lever to right,

press downward on the barrels. The discharged shells will eject.

AMMUNITION12 Gauge RBL’s are chambered for 3” ammunition

only and is intended for use with standard ammunition.

16 Gauge RBL’s are chambered for 2 3/4” ammunition only and is intended for use with

standard ammunition.

We do not recommend reloads of any kind.

REPAIRThe only people qualifi ed to work on this gun is

CSMC. The gun is specially marked so the company knows if the gun has been worked on by anyone other

than CSMC. Any outside work on this gun voids warranty and all CSMC responsibility.

How to Care for your RBL

Protect your gun with good gun care products. Give it regular attention, and it will provide you with many years of shooting fun.

Important – Clean inside of the barrels and chambers to remove all grease and other possible obstructions before fi ring your RBL.

Remember – Rust is neglect – Make sure all exposed metal surfaces are coated with a fi lm of oil. After being subjected to damp weather, thoroughly wipe out the bore, and wipe off all exposed metal surfaces. Then apply a new fi lm of light oil.

The action of you RBL has been lubricated with a light gun oil. Gun care products featuring these qualities are commercially available in spray can applicators. When lubrication is deemed necessary, we recommend a light application of the spray through the fi ring pin and cocking lever holes in the frame, with the barrels detached and with both hammers cocked.

Conventional protective oil or grease may be applied to the exposed external metal surfaces of your RBL when the gun is to be stored for any lengthy period, BUT THESE TYPES

OF LUBRICANTS SHOULD NEVER BE UTILIZED IN THE ACTION, AS SLUGGISH OPERATION OR

DOUBLING IS APT TO RESULT.

Treat EVERY firearm as if it is

LOADED

Installing or changing screw in choke:(Standard on 12ga. Only)

MAKE SURE GUN IS UNLOADED

1. Make sure the choke threads are cleaned and lightly oiled on both the choke tube and inside the

barrels.2. Make sure the barrels are off the gun, or the action

is partially opened.3. Start threading the choke tube into the barrel

carefully by hand. Be careful not to cross thread. 4. After the thread is started use the special supplied

friction choke tube wrench, make sure the tube is fully bottomed and even with the barrel.

The choke tubes are stamped, Full, IM, M, CYL, Skeet.

Use open chokes for steel shot

Be sure to remove the choke tube wrench before shooting. Do not fi re rifl e or sabot slugs through this gun. Never fi re the gun without the choke

tubes being in place. Do not look into the muzzle or change choke tubes on a loaded gun.

Page 12: RBL 12/16 gauge Manual

BEFORE LOADING – Place the safety “on” and select the barrel you wish to fi re fi rst by pushing the

gold shift lever button in the trigger to the right to fi re the right barrel fi rst and to the left for the left barrel. A

second pull of the trigger will fi re the other barrel.TO LOAD – Place the safety in the “on” position. Push the top lever to the right to unlock the breech.

Push down on the barrels to open the action. As desired, insert a shell into the chamber of the barrel

chosen to be fi red fi rst or both.TO FIRE – Firmly shoulder the gun. Push the

safety forward to the “off” position and when on target pull the trigger. The second barrel may be fi red by

simply releasing and pulling the trigger again.TO UNLOAD OR TO REMOVE THE FIRED

SHELLS – The RBL will briskly eject the fi red shells and will extract unfi red shells far enough to

permit easy removal by hand. Push the safety to the “on” position. To avoid being struck by an ejected fi red case, direct the breech end of the barrels away

from you before opening the action. When through shooting always put

the safety “on”. NEVER STORE A LOADED GUN.
