You get into the routine of playing football and working out and it’s kind of a way to take some stress off and take my mind away and learn about something I’m passionate about,” Hightower said at the time. Hightower lives his life by the motto “Purpose Driven” and has the words inscribed in a tattoo on his back. Since the fifth grade, his goal was to make it to the NFL. “When you understand your pur- pose, that purpose will drive you,” Hightower said in 2011. “That focus, that goal, it drove me to the point where that’s all I could think about.
