The aim of the summer school, organized by the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, would be twofold : 1) evaluating the very designation CCI (the extent to which it adequately covers all current artistic practices), and 2) the role of art institutions (academies, museums, galleries, engaged civil society organizations) in promoting sustainable creative and artistic practices.Are we creating ephemeral art? Do we create from need or leisure? These and many other questions will initiate a critical review of the conceptual apparatus underlying CCI’s, which we will have the opportunity to debate and intensively put into ques-tion with our practices over the course of three days among students and teachers from Nova Gorica, Belgrade, Budapest, Krakow.

Students and mentors are invited to the conference SmartArt – Art and Science Applied: From Inspiration to Interaction. The main idea behind the conference is to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences originat-ing in the intersection of applied art and science.
The conference will host the Mapping the Local workshop which will mapp art in science and vice-versa. Apply to stay within November 28 to December 4 2019

We will organize an Intermedia Flying Academy. This is a project-oriented situation and we are open to ideas to be realized. Each “atom” that is part of this structure is comprised of a nucleus of theme-providers (= usually teachers) and a few elec-trons ( = usually students). The “elements” thus created interact freely. The groups (“atoms”) need not overlap in time, but they will use the same dedicated space in the Faculty of Intermedia. Additionally, the work will be saved incrementally on a project website. Each stay has to be 21 days long (for students). For faculty tim-ing, please see your NCO.
