are responsible for maintenance and proper functioning of Highway patrol Squads;
(b) If so, the details of facilities created during the last three years

Whether the NHAI has provided 24/7 patrolling squads with latest surveillance and security gadgets
all along the national highways to cater the emergency needs in time of accidents or any terrorist
related crisis; and
(d) If so, the amount spend on this during the last three years
(a)Whether it is fact that due to industrialization, traffic growth is taking place at the rate of 80% to 10%
per annum;

If so, whether government has been able to augment the capacity of National Highways(NHs) to
match the volume of traffic growth; and

augmentation made during the last five years?

Whether it is a fact that number of flaws have come to the light with regard to the quality of highways
constructed in the country and these flaws involve faulty tender process and the construction of roads
with Bitumen and other substanded material which has resulted in their pre-nature decay;

(a)whether the planing commission and the ministry of finance are causing delay in the NHAI Projects to
revive the virtually-stalled road sector
(b)if so, to what extent varioue projects have been delayed due to delay in settlement of disputes and
amicable resolution worth around Rs 5000 crore and blocking the exit policy
(c) the contempleted to streamline the whole system so that the projects do nto suffer for want of inter-ministerial coordination and cooperation
(d)whether the meeting of secretaries of the concerned department would be convened to iron out the
differences and to give go-ahead for the pending projects; and
(e) the details there of;
(a)whether several narrow bridges exist on various national highways in the country causing traffic jam
and accidents;
(b) if so, the number of such spots identified and action taken to widen such bridged in the countryduring the last three years and the current year, state wise particularly telangana; and

coming two years;

whether the Govt is seriously considering to ease norms for revival of Rs. 60,000 cr of worht highway
projects that are now stuck for last two years
(c)whether the Govt has decided not to entrust highway contracts to Border road organisation, in view
of its dismal work record in the past; and
