I'm Stephanie, the mom behind Raising A Family On A Budget. When I became a stay-at-home mom in 2007, my reality check bounced! We no longer had two incomes and the luxury of shopping, dining out, and traveling with abandon. With just one income to work with, we had to figure out how to raise our family while sticking to a budget. My husband works for Princeton University, and brings home one pay check per month, and it became my job to learn how to make it stretch as far as possible.
After conversations with other moms, I was asked to teach a couponing class, and Raising A Family On A Budget was born as a supplement to that class. I continue to learn new things every day, and I enjoy having the opportunity to connect with my readers since we are all in this together, trying to do the best that we can for our families.

I found your site last year when I started to get into couponing and I loved it, I found it so useful. However, I recently had a baby and, like you, my husband and I decided it was best that I stay home with him. My husband and I worked hard for years at demanding jobs, often working late nights and weekends. I knew the transition would be hard on both of us! My son is now four months, but in the beginning it was so difficult to get anything done and the days literally ran together. My husband still works long hours and I take care of all the "household" duties. It's a far cry from my consulting days.
It was you who inspired me to create a list of my goals for the day and it literally changed my life. I set realistic goals everyday and not only do I feel accomplished, but when my husband asks "what did u do all day?", I can show him my list! Too often people think that SAHM are bored all day long! Far from it! Your tips, advice, and money saving ideas have helped my family and I just want to say thank you!
