Bougainvillea 1• The Bougainvillea is a plant which is found in the Amazon in South America.

It can reach up to 30 feet and it could either be vines, trees, or shrubs, If it was a shrub it would have really sharp, pointy horns. There are lots of

colours of Bougainveilleas like dark green , pink, red orange, yellow and white. They are also very fragile.

The Kapok tree is an emergent tree which can grow up to 150 feet or more. It was originally discovered in South America. But now it has been spread around places. The trunk is cylindrical, smooth and gray in color reach a diameter of 9 feet. The branches can grow in horizontal tires.

• OOver 2,000 species of Orchids all over the world. • RResearch has been made to discover the evolutionary relationships

between orchids. • CCPBR also helps conserve orchids by researching cultivation techniques

and seed propagation.• HHaving to look after these orchids are easy• IIdentify natural groups and to help provide classification systems of orchids.• DDragon Orchid is a very common orchid.• SSimilar studies are underway into a group of ground orchids which is widely

distributed in Australia.

The emergent layer is made up of the tallest trees in the whole rainforests. It is the one who gets the most sun, heat and rain out of the others. Animals such as eagles, monkeys, butterflies, insects and snakes are manly found around there. It's height is usually about 60metres above the ground floor.

The Canopy layer is the second highest trees in the rainforests. The animals that you can see are monkeys, sloths, tree-frogs , ants, beetles, parrots, hummingbirds and snakes. It is made up of the vines and tree branches which join together. The trees there became an umbrella which filters out the light.

The Understorey is the second smallest layer and that's why it doesn't get much sunlight. The understorey is full of natural life and many animals are seen and heard there some of them are snakes, frogs, parakeets, leopards, jaguars and a massive amount of insects in the world live there.

The forest floor is a tangle of roots with lots

of moss. A leaf that might take one year to

decompose would take just 6 weeks on the

forest floor. The insects you most likely

would find there consists of termites,

cockroaches, beetles, centipedes, millipedes,

scorpions and earthworm. Some animals can

be found such as bandicoots, scrub fowls

and cassowaries roving around the forest

floors.

5 What will happen?• If they where no trees left in the world no life will be seen or

heard. 40% was the insect life in rainforests and would be destroyed. All the fresh air would be gone as well. Imagine that having no fresh air and all because of those nasty loggers.

• Most animals would not be able to survive in a place without trees because some animals like possums made homes there and would make to find homes in small forest areas. Also because there will be a lack of food, water and air. No birds and the ecosystem will be destroyed.

• Trees carry out an important type of function which removes all the carbon dioxide in the air. Us humans breath out co2 and if there where no trees then there would be less plants to trap the co2 in their growth and we would need to found plants which do. Global warming could be a really worse and bad thing that could happen.

• Rainforests animals are mainly brightly coloured have a certain colour's like the Day Gecko , they are green in colour so they can blend in with the leaves. Poisonous animals always shine bright colour’s and patterns as a way of defense.

• Rainforests plants are also brightly coloured so coloured so they can attract birds, insects and bats to feed. Also plants are brightly coloured in the rainforests because they need light to grow and to make food. If they get this light they can grow up to 60 meters.
