Dear All

It has been a fast moving and exciting first term and as we approach the Christmas period it is fantastic to see a High Notes that reflects the achievements and continuing progress the school and the students are making.

The stories within represent the quality of experience, opportunity and performance the school delivers on a daily basis. As Principal it is wonderful to see the ethos of Everyone Matters, Everyone Helps and Everyone Succeeds being embodied by the students and staff across a wide range of activities such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Sport, Bushcraft as well as continuing to work within the local community and working hard to support charities and make a difference to other people less fortunate than ourselves.

A massive congratulations to all those students who have achieved success and succeeded in Dof E Bronze, Silver and Gold. It was also a lovely presentation evening to see students both past and present to receive GCSE certificates. Individual success is always great to celebrate but it was lovely to attend the Educate Awards for the whole of Merseyside and be present as the school won the Outstanding Commitment to Sport for the second year running and was once again runner up for the second year running as the most Inspirational Secondary School

but possibly the best moment of the evening was Jo Burgess our SENCO receiving Teacher of the Year having been nominated by a parent of the school for the difference she has made.

I would recommend you read High Notes and as parents and students appreciate the wide range of success and opportunities the school is supporting the students and community with. It is a credit to every member of the school community that Rainford High is doing so much and moving forward to being the best school it can be.

Finally, a mention for our Year 11’s who have completed mock GCSE exams and ISAs as we approach Christmas and the end of term. They all appear to have worked hard and prepared thoroughly and taken the process seriously, results day will arrive in early January so I hope they can enjoy the Christmas festivities and take a rest before pushing towards the final exams.

To each and everyone of you I wish you a Merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy new year.

Ian Young Principal
