Childhood and Study

Rahul Gandhi was born on 19 June 1970 in Delhi, the first amongst 2 children of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India and Sonia Gandhi, the present Congress President. His grandmother was former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and his great-grandfather was Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. He attended Modern School, New Delhi before entering the The Doon School. Starting university at Harvard, he got his B.A. from Rollins College, Florida in 1994 due to interruptions in his studies caused by security concerns after his father's assassination. He received an M.Phil. in Development Studies in 1995 from Trinity College, Cambridge. Rahul Gandhi, after graduating worked with management guru, Michael Porter's Management consulting firm, Monitor Group for three years. He returned to India in late 2002.

Childhood

Sonia Gandhi is the President of Indian National Congress and the chair person of the UPA. Born on Dec. 9, 1946, she was elected as Congress President on 28th May 2005 by overwhelming support from across the country. She was born to Stefano and Paola Maino in contra Màini ("Maini street") in Lusiana, a little village 30 km from Vicenza in the region of Veneto, Italy. She spent her adolescence in Orbassano, a town near Turin, being raised in a traditional Roman Catholic family and attending a Catholic school. Her father, a building contractor, died in 1983. Her mother and two sisters still live around Orbassano.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is the daughter of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. She is also the sister of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. She was born in Delhi on January 12, 1972. It is a matter of great pride that her father, grandmother and great-grandfather, viz. Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, all were the Prime Ministers of India. Her mother Sonia Gandhi is currently the President of the Indian National Congress and also the Chairperson of the ruling United Progressive Alliance. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was studied in Modern School, Convent of Jesus and Mary, and is a graduate in Psychology from the University of Delhi. She is married to Robert Vadra, and has two children, Raihan and Miraya.
