MCC PANEL
v AMF (Auto Mains Failure Panel) Panel is for controlling two DG Sets, Master DG and slave DG
v This is a Module with Generator monitoring, protection and start facilities. Operation of the module is via three pushbuttons mounted on the front panel with STOP, MANUAL and AUTO positions. Selection of the ‘Auto’ mode is confirmed by LED indicator, and monitors the incoming mains supply (3 Phase or Single phase). Should the incoming AC mains supply fall below a configurable pre-set limit, the generator will be started, and load transferred to the gen-set.
v When the AC mains supply returns to within limits, the module will transfer load back to the mains. The engine will be instructed to stop after a cool-down period. The module’s microprocessor provides comprehensive control functions.

v An Automatic Power Factor Correction (Controller) panel or in short APFC Panel is used to Save Energy by consistently maintaining higher power factor. Low Power Factor leads to poor power efficiency, thereby increasing the apparent power drawn from the distribution network. This result in overloading of Transformer, Bus bars, Switch gears, Cables and other distribution devices within the Industry or consumer area.

FEEDER PILLAR PANEL
v The motor continues to increase its speed until the motor torque and the load torque balance each other and a steady speed it achieved. At this stage switch 2 is opened and momentarily the motor is supplied by even lower voltage, because the windings of the autotransformer act as inductors connected in series with motor. This time is short -just enough to disconnect the switch 2 & engage switch 3, which connects the full voltage to the motor. Further increase in speed begins and motor reaches its full rated speed.

v After a predetermined period the Star switch will open

v A Reversing Motor Starter is two starters in one with two coils and one overload block.
v There are two sets of power contacts; one for forward and one for reverse.
v The normally closed reversing contact connects directly to the forward coil.
v Control the coils through the normally closed contacts. This means only one can run at a time. If forward is running its normally closed contact is open and no power can be connected to the reversing coil.
v Reversing Motor Starters have mechanical interlocks to prevent a phase to phase short. If both coils are energized the mechanical interlock will prevent one contact from closing since this condition will overheat the coil and burn it out. By simply running through the normally closed contact from one side to get to the coil of the other side, coil damage is avoided.
