The Irving Campión Trails is a master-planned, 22 mile greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River in Irving. Currently there are two segments of Campión Trails open to the public. There are 6.5 miles available in the Elm Fork (north) section and 4 miles available in the West Fork (south) section. The Grand Prairie Lone Star Trail is an attractive 45.6-mile trail that begins at Story Road/Hunter Ferrell across from Running Bear Park to the City of Grand Prairie’s Lone Star Park entertainment complex at Beltline/IH 30 which contains the Verizon Theatre, a horse racing track, and a minor league baseball stadium. The Denton Branch Rail Trail is an 8-mile trail along the Denton County Transportation Authority A-train commuter rail line. The Rail Trail generally parallels IH 35E, connecting with the Downtown Denton Transit Center and passing near schools, shopping centers, and residential areas. The trail provides safe access for bicyclists and pedestrians to many destinations in the Denton County area. Future extensions to the north and south, which are being planned, will provide additional connections to commuter rail stations and the cities of Lake Dallas, Hickory Creek, and Lewisville. Denton Branch Rail Trail

A series of trails travel through the heart of Plano and provide connections to a wide range of destinations throughout the city. These trails are part of a 70-mile network of existing off-street shared use paths (trails), making it possible to complete walking or biking trips to work, transit, school, errands, or to enjoy for recreational purposes. The Trinity Trails are a system of shared use paths along or near the Trinity River and its tributaries with the trails originating in central Fort Worth. The trail network connects with 21 parks, the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, Fort Worth Zoo, the historic Stockyards, Fort Worth Naval Air Station, and downtown Fort Worth. In Arlington, the Village Creek and River Legacy Trails span 13 miles beginning in west Arlington and leading through River Legacy Park. The trail provides access to numerous residential neighborhoods and is a scenic environment for walking, biking, nature study, and bird watching. In the mid-cities, the Cotton Belt Trail currently extends for 11 miles along the former Cotton Belt rail corridor and provides access to many neighborhoods, business districts, schools, and city parks. The Cotton Belt trail has connections to several cities including North Richland Hills, Keller, Hurst, Colleyville, and Grapevine.
