Is it healthy or not?
Why did we chose our project? More and more people are becoming obese
and it’s because of the food they eat.
¼ Kids are obese NOW!….so we decided to help!
Our guiding questions
1.What is in the food that is making us unhealthy?2. How much food should kids be eating for lunch?3.What foods should we be avoiding?4. How many lunch orders are we having in a week? 5. What are people eating for lunch?
How we helped We made a lunch order list which has ,
& .
= Bad/Rarely= Ok/Sometimes
= Good/Any time
By doing that, People would start to think carefully about what they’re ordering and putting into themselves, therefore healthier.
We also printed the lunch order list (which has all the colours on it), as well as a smaller ‘Healthy Eating Traffic Light’ poster for each neighbourhood to keep.
How did we know what’s good and bad? We did some research on what’s good
and bad for our health.
BAD• Processed foods• Margarine/Butter• Cream• Cheese (not all)• Sugary sweets and lollies• Food with colouring• Fizzy drinks• Salt• Junk food/fast food
Good• Fruit• Vegetables• Oats/fibre-rich grains• Beans/Peas• Rice
Next we had a look at the food and judged them by what they had in them.
A lunch We also drew up another lunch
order list which we think is more healthy but still yummy!
