Ave. and Water St. Sanitary Sewer Realignment (hereinafter “Project”) will be received by the City of Union, 500 East Locust Street, Union, MO 63084, until 2:00 P.M., on September 25, 2018. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 P.M., on September 25, 2018, at City Hall.

The Scope of Work includes construction of approximately 600 lineal feet of PVC gravity sanitary sewer, associated man-holes, site restoration and other incidental items and work de-scribed in the Project Manual, or reasonably inferable therefrom.

Bid packages will be available after 1:00 P.M. on September 5, 2018, and may be obtained from the office of Cochran located at 530A East Independence Drive, Union, MO 63084, upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of $50.00 per set. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, in accordance with the In-structions to Bidders.

A prebid meeting will be held on September 18, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at City Hall.

The Owner anticipates issu-ing notice to proceed in October of 2018.

The wage rates applicable to this project have been predeter-mined as required by law and are set forth in this specifica-tion. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the “Work Hours Act of 1962,” (P.L. 87-581: 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations.

Effective January 1, 2009, and pursuant to RSMo 285.530 (1), no business entity or employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to em-ploy an unauthorized alien to perform work within the state of Missouri. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming the business entity’s enrollment and participation in the federal work authorization program and that all of its employees working for the contracted services are not il-legal immigrants.

Upon signing the contract, the successful contractor and any subcontractor performing the work shall provide a ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) con-struction safety program for their on-site employees.

The Owner hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract en-tered into pursuant to this ad-vertisement, disadvantaged busi-ness enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
