Q12. What is X?X was introduced in F1 in 2011. The use of the X is an

exception to the rule banning moving parts whose primary purpose is aerodynamic and were introduced in response to the banning of F-ducts.

X is a form of driver adjustable bodywork aimed at reducing aerodynamic drag in order to increase top speed and promote overtaking, to make the races more interesting.

X often comes with conditions, such as the pursuing car must be within a second (when both cars cross the detection point) for X to be activated.

In F1, the X opens an adjustable flap on the rear wing of the car to reduce drag, thus giving a pursuing car more speed and thus a greater chance of overtaking a car in front.

The FIA estimate the speed increase to be between 10–12 km/h by the end of the activation zone.

Q13.This term originated from a time when

dynamites were uninsulated from moisture.

This term comes from a situation when a tiny stick of dynamite failed to perform because it got wet.

This has since come into everyday use to mean anything that fails to meet expectations.

for the longest number of years, with minimal design changes, in the same factory in the whole world (1958-2014).

No other rival made in the world has surpassed this record.

Q15.Macropinna microstoma is the only species of

fish in its genus. This fish has a tiny mouth and almost all of its

body is covered with large scales. The fish has been seen to hang very

motionless, at depths of about 600 metres to 800 metres, and uses its large fins for stability.

In conditions of very less light, it has been gathered that this fish finds its prey by silhouette.

But, it has a special characteristic which sets it apart from other fishes and aquatic wildlife in general.

What characteristic?

Page 36: Quizzing: My Drug (06/09/2014)

A transparent head!Macropinna microstoma is recognized for a

highly unusual transparent, fluid-filled dome on its head, through which the lenses of its eyes can be seen. The eyes have a barrel shape and can be rotated to point either forward or straight up, looking through the fish's transparent dome.

Q17.This is Keijo Erik “X” Z, a Finnish former racing

driver and winner of the 1982 Formula One World Championship.

He was the first Finnish driver to compete regularly in the series.

He was active from 1978–1986 with the teams like Theodore, ATS, Wolf, Fittipaldi, Williams, McLaren.

Q18.Scientists have recently found out

Ringwoodite out 700 kilometers deep in the Earth's crust/mantle.

Ringwoodite is a high-pressure magnesium iron silicate that is formed at high temperatures and pressures.

Ringwoodite could contain within it a certain commodity, and this reserve would be the largest found anywhere on the planet, if established as a fact.

This reserve has at most 3 times the amount of that commodity found on all of the Earth’s crust.

What is this commodity?

Page 44: Quizzing: My Drug (06/09/2014)
Page 45: Quizzing: My Drug (06/09/2014)

Water

Ringwoodite is notable for being able to contain hydroxide ions (oxygen and hydrogen atoms bound together) within its structure.

Combined with evidence of its occurrence deep in the Earth's mantle, this suggests that there is from one to three world ocean's equivalent of water in the mantle transition zone from 410 to 660 km deep.

Q19. Name this ‘American Icon’ please.X began his career with Boeing as an engineer in 1969

straight out of college and came up the ranks to be executive vice president of Boeing and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

He was named the President and CEO of Ford Motor Company on September 5, 2006, to arrest the downslide of the company.

He began restructuring plans at Ford to turn around its massive losses and declining market share.

In 2006, X led the effort for Ford to borrow US$23.6 billion by mortgaging all of Ford's assets.

Because he had no loyalty to Ford's luxury brands, X overrode internal opposition and sold Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston Martin before buyers became scarce, and at the time was seen as outrageous.

But his measure were able to achieve what he had intended. Ford was the only one of the Detroit Three to not go bankrupt during the automotive industry crisis of 2008–2009.
