The X’s dilemma, is a metaphor about the challenges of human intimacy. It describes a situation in which a group of Xs all seek to
become close to one another in order to share heat during cold weather. They must remain apart, however, as they cannot avoid hurting one another with their sharp spines. Though
they all share the intention of a close reciprocal relationship, this may not occur, for reasons
they cannot avoid.
Both Arthur Schopenhauer and Sigmund Freud have used this situation to describe what they feel is the state of the individual in relation to others in society. The X’s dilemma suggests
that despite goodwill, human intimacy cannot occur without substantial mutual harm, and what results is cautious behavior and weak
relationships.

The XY was an Indian newspaper established in 1938 by Jawaharlal Nehru.
Begun by Nehru at a time when he seemed unable to make an impact on
the reactionary tendencies of the Congress Party it served as his
mouthpiece allowing him to address and endorse unpopular stances that he would
not have been able to defend as a politician through his editorial pieces for the paper. While the paper suffered from
financial troubles from the outset and was shut down briefly in the 1940s and 1970s, it finally ceased operations in
2008. Which newspaper?

In 1910, the rotating slot machine appeared as a device for dispensing
chewing gum and gave us the symbols still used on slot machines today. The
spinning flavors were cherry, orange and plum. Each wheel had a bar reading ‘1910
Fruit Gum,’ and three of those in a row paid off in a jackpot of gum. But if any
row came up a ______, there was no payout at all. Thus _____ became synonymous to a bad purchase or
disappointment and gave rise to a famous expression. What?

Seyyed Ahmad Musavi Hindi was a Shia Muslim scholar in the 19th century born

tomb of Imam Ali in Najaf, and never returned. It is believed he settled in X in
1839. However, he continued to be known as ‘Hindi’ because of his Indian links. Little is known about his son. His grandson, whose name means ‘Spirit of God’, however, took up the name of the
village X as surname, and relegated ‘Hindi’ to his pen name in some of his

There is some dispute over the origin of this word. One anecdote attributes the origin of the word to a meeting of
the Preston Temperance Society in 1833. The story attributes the word to Richard Turner, a member of the society who, having an impediment of speech, in addressing a meeting
remarked, that ‘partial would not do; they must insist upon’’… and then he stammered and now that’s how we
know the word. What word?

The company was founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862, and in 1910, became the
nation’s first multi-national company when it opened operations in Spain. But relations
between the company and Cuba soured greatly in 1960, when its operations were nationalized by the government following the Communist takeover there. As a result the company had to shift its base in US.
However, after decades of stand off, the fresh start to diplomatic relations have
given the company hope. “X is proud of its Cuban roots,” a company
representative said in a statement last year. “We have the utmost respect and
sympathy for the Cuban people with whom we share a common heritage.”

With the movement for Catalan
independence blowing hot and cold in the last decade, doubts over
Barcelona’s participation in La Liga have worried fans. When Ex
President Steve Roselli was asked about this by Sport, he said “If
Barcelona becomes independent, it would make no difference. It would keep on playing in the league just like ________ in _______ continues to
play in Ligue, despite being a separate state. I am convinced of
this,"

X was a judge of the Supreme Court of India from 1971-1977. Two of his
judgments form the basis of modern constitutional law. He had authored the
Basic structure doctrine of the Constitution of India. However, he is more
famous for being the only judge to dissent against the Court’s decision upholding the right of Prime Minister
Indira Gandhi’s Government to imprison political opponents at will and without
court hearings during Emergency in ADM Jabalpur. This cost him the chair of CJI as in 1977 Justice MH Beg, who decided in
favour of the government was appointed instead.

In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China in 2013, passed
a law banning X without govt. permission. The law strictly stipulates the procedures by which one is to X.
Beyond the absurdity was China’s real motive which is to cut off Dalai
Lama’s influence. The law, by banning X, effectively gives the Chinese
authorities the power to choose the next Dalai Lama. What is X?

Inspired by the utopian novels of H.G.Wells, Aldous Huxley sought to write a book with a polar opposite prediction of the future and wrote the book Brave New World in 1932. He managed it with some
style, by painting an image of a cold industrialising world with numbing drugs,
organised reproduction, no concept of family, and brainwashing from birth. The novel curiously opens in London in A.F. 632. What is A.F in Brave New World?

15. The X is a non-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is known for holding a
yearly meeting in the mountains of Graubünden. Important leaders from politics (such as presidents) and the economy are given an opportunity to talk about subjects that concern everyone. Very often, these
subjects concern globalization. Usually the Swiss army helps secure the area. These
meetings are often criticised because they are seen as a vehicle to further capitalism in the
world.
On the other hand, the Y is an annual meeting in which members of the alternative
globalization movement meet to coordinate world campaigns, share and refine organizing
strategies, inform each other about the different movements around the world and
their issues. This tends to take place in January when its "great capitalist rival", the X takes place. It's supposed to represent world civil
society. The clash is consciously done to promote alternative answers to world
economic problems in opposition to the X.X and Y?

words: "I am very sorry it is taking me so long to die. The War was justified and righteous. I am
very sorry for the nation and all the races of the Greater Asiatic powers. I wait for the righteous judgment of history. I wished to commit suicide
but sometimes that fails.“

____ ________ Feminists is a phrase used for the radical feminists of the late 60’s and
70’s. The phrase emanates from an extreme act of protest that is supposed to have happened during a demonstration
held at the Miss America 1969 contest by a feminist group.
However, the truth is the ‘act’ never happened. A female reporter, Lindsy Van
Gelder, covering the protest drew an analogy between the feminist protesters
and Vietnam War protesters who did ‘this’ to their draft cards in her article next day in NYT and this trope became erroneously and permanently attached to the event
and became a catch-phrase of the feminist era.

Few lines from the lettera convention among us analysts that none of us need feel ashamed of his own neurosis. But one

that we abandon our personal relations entirely.”
“I shall lose nothing by it,” he continues, “for my only emotional tie with you has been a long
thin thread — the lingering effect of past disappointments — and you have everything to gain, in view of the remark you recently made
to the effect that an intimate relationship with a man inhibited your scientific freedom.”

X is a tiny village that lies 30 km from Purnia. As Purnia lay adjacent to East Pakistan many Muslims left to migrate
there, and the inhabitants of the village renamed it X after the Muslims who had
left. Today, even official documents identify it as X. The villagers never tried to change it. The village has no roads, electricity, school or even a primary
health centre. The only link to the village is a creaky iron rail bridge over a narrow Kari Kosi river and that too was built just
four years ago. Give me X.
