Quilting Basics & Techniques Beginning Quilt Making Beginner Instructor: Karen 7 Sessions Fee: $75 + Book Tuesdays 6:00 – 9:00 PM January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th February 4th, 11th and 18th Mondays 6:00 – 9:00 PM March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th April 6th and 13th Step 1: A machine pieced quilt top. In this class we make a sampler quilt top of 9 different blocks, blending time honored skills with updated tools and techniques. Basic quilt making covers the topics of supplies, tools and fabric, rotary cutting, machine piecing, quilt top construction, border application and binding. Our class will discuss quilting options for Step 2 — finishing your sampler quilt top. Join us to help develop skills, achieve accurate results and increase confidence in quilting. Intermediate Quilt Making Adv. Beginner *Must have taken Beginning Quilt Making* Instructor: Karen 5 Sessions Fee: $55 Mondays 6:00 – 9:00 PM January 20th and 27th, February 3rd, 10th and 17th This class is the follow on to the Beginning Quilt Making Class. In this class we will be making a sampler quilt made up of 9 blocks that will continue to build your quilt making skills. Machine appliqué, foundation piecing, and eight pointed star construction are a few of the techniques that will be explored. This class uses the same book as the Beginner class. Fabric purchase and limited cutting are done prior to the class. Machine Quilting All Levels Instructor: Sandi 1 Session Fee: $35 March 17th Tuesday 6:00 – 8:30PM Too many quilt tops and not enough time? Tired of machine quilting “in the ditch”? Well, drop those feed dogs and take off with all the lovely quilting stencils that you really want to use. This hands-on class will focus on freehand quilting with information and demonstrations of quilting with a darning foot, nylon thread and various other specialty threads. Proper techniques for quilting full sized quilts will also be discussed. Students must know how to remove, cover or lower feed dogs and must have a darning foot. Twister Tool Lab All Levels Instructor: Diane 1 Session Fee: $30 + Ruler March 8th Sunday 1:30 – 3:00PM Have you been admiring the projects that use the popular Twister tools? Learn this fun technique while working on your favorite project. Choose a quilt, table runner, tote bag, or other project and join us for a day of fun. Work on Your Judy All Levels Instructor: Julie 1 Session Fee: $60 January 25th Saturday 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM Have a Quiltworx project that you’re stuck on, need guidance or encouragement? Have a pattern and just don’t know where to start? Come work with Certified Instructor Julie Arrowood to get back on track and complete that quilt! Stripology Lab All Levels Instructor: Mary 1 Session Fee: $30 + Ruler & Pattern February 27th Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 PM Want more time to sew? The Stripology Squared Ruler will reduce your cutting time, allowing you to spend more time sewing. This multi-purpose ruler can be used to cut strips, square up your fabric, half square triangles, quarter square triangles and blocks up to 12.5”. You can choose to make either the Nova or Valerie quilt by GE Designs. Other GE patterns may be used if it uses the Stripology Squared ruler. Work on Your Purse All Levels Instructor: Jill 1 Session Fee: $30 March 14th Saturday 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM This class will focus on providing a resource/instructor to assist you in completing that Bag or Purse you started and haven’t finished. Are you stuck? Can’t figure out the pattern? Doing what the pattern says but it’s just not working? Or maybe, just haven’t had the time to finish your project? This is the class for you! Deb Tucker Ruler Lab All Levels Instructor: Barb 1 Session Fee: $30 + Ruler March 24th Tuesday 6:00 – 8:00 PM If you have not used a Deb Tucker ruler you are in for a treat. The Tucker Trimmer takes the frustration out of making half-square triangles, combined square triangles, and quarter square triangles. Using the Wing Clipper, your flying geese units will be perfect. I believe Deb Tucker rulers are some of the best rulers and mastering these two rulers gives you a great start to eliminating a lot of the frustrations we all have. Quilt Tops & Projects Chenille Baby Quilt All Levels Instructor: Lisa 1 Session Fee: $30 + Pattern January 29th Wednesday 6:00 – 8:00 PM Looking for a quick and easy baby quilt? Try this Chenille baby quilt. In the class you will learn how to layer your fabrics together, stitch the lines and then make the chenille. Great fun and when you are done, there is no machine quilting needed. Come in and see the store sample and you will want to make one of your own. Fabric kits are available for both boys and girls. Meadowland All Levels Instructor: Nancy 1 Session Fee: $30 + Pattern February 25th Tuesday 6:30 – 8:00 PM Meadowland is the quilt pattern that no one makes just once! It’s fast and fun: fat quarter friendly--just add background fabric, or use half yards or scraps. The large 16” blocks showcase your fabrics. No sashing or borders speeds up the finishing. Both types of jelly rolls are available for making this lap-size heirloom quilt.

We have a great offering of fun projects and techniques.We are also starting a new block of the Month on February 1st. Entitled “Harmony”, this new Nancy Rink Quilt measures 96” x 107”. A color picture is available at the store. If the applique worries you, keep in mind that precut applique shapes are available as part of the block.As usual, a book will be purchased, and fabric kit prices will be based on the amount of fabric in the kit each month. Class Supply Lists and Other Information• For each class there is a list of supplies needed. Please stop in to

pick up a supply list for each class you register for. Supply lists are also available over the phone. All supplies needed for classes will be available at the shop.

• If a class requires a sewing machine, make sure your machine is in good working order. This will save you a lot of frustration in the long run.

• Quilt classes are generally for the top only. Help with finishing your quilt is always available at the store and classes on finishing will be available periodically.

• Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class so you will have time to get your supplies organized and purchase any additional supplies you may need.

• Wash your fabrics prior to class. This will prevent bleeding or shrinkage of your finished product.

• In consideration of classmates, children should not accompany you to class.
