QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER
AUTUMN 2016 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827
916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com
Can you believe it? This is our last newsletter of the year 2016. There is so much to tell you, so here
goes.
We have a beautiful new WEBSITE as a result of going to a new company to process our sales and
inventory. When you get a chance, take a look at it. AND SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER. It will
eventually be interactive, so that we may take sales over the internet. The pictures are great and the
whole site will be current and creative.
We are having our annual bus trip to PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL. It is an all day
trip on Saturday, October 15 starting at 8:00AM and returning at 8:00PM. The trip is great fun and
the quilt show is fabulous! The cost is $75, which includes entrance fees, morning pastries and coffee.
You will not have to wait in line for tickets, we get them for you. Sign up soon, as spaces fill up fast.
If you need to get away and decompress after the holidays, we have a RETREAT January 6-9 at the
Auburn Mercy Center. It’s peaceful and serene, the food is fantastic, and you will not be interrupted
to do the laundry, etc. We’ve also been lucky this year and received confirmation on our wonderful 5
day retreat at Zephyr Point for June 11-16. These would be great ideas to put on your Christmas wish
list.
Once again, we are having an after Thanksgiving and Small Business SALE. The dates are November
25th and 26th. Everything on the floor will be 20% off both days. This will be a great opportunity to do
your last minute Christmas shopping and to purchase those things needed to finish up your UFO’s.
The shop is closing early December 2nd and 3rd, as the owners and staff will be going on a retreat.
Hurray! We are CLOSING at 2:00 p.m. on both days.. We also will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas
Day, New Year’s Eve (except for Block of the Month early hours), and New Year’s Day.
The RIVER CITY QUILT SHOW is coming up at the Scottish Rite Temple, 6151 H Street, Sacramen-
to. This year’s theme is “A River Runs Through It .” Show hours are November 18th and 19th 10-5, and
Sunday the 20th 10-4. Entrance fee is $7.00 per day. Of course, we will have a booth, so stop by and
see us and check out all the new kits we made especially for the show.
Our shop prides itself on its extensive collection of 1800’s, 1930’s and Batiks. We have followed the
trend of embroidered wool and added many wool project books and a wool club. There is also a class
doing Sue Spargo’s quilts. We have purchased more WOOL, including hand dyes and a large section of
Valdani threads, which are perfect for using on the wool applique. Come see the beautiful selection of
colors.
In response to customer requests, we are continuing to offer TUFFET classes. You would not believe
some of the outstanding pieces students have created. You can use your Dad’s ties, a collection of fab-
rics, jelly rolls, or something that matches your room. Our teacher, Diana Tatro, has taught many
times and her students always finish with an amazing and unique creation! Don’t know what a tuffet is,
come on in and see our samples.
Our OPEN HOUSE is scheduled for September 25th. For a little extra incentive, we will have the
Halloween fabric on sale at 25% off. When you sign up for a class you receive a free fat quarter. Come
in and meet our instructors, see our new samples, and have some homemade goodies. The hours will be
12-4:00 P.M. We look forward to seeing you in the store soon. Elaine, Pat, Carol, Pam, Dawn, Diane, Don-
na, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Diane, Jean , Chris, Gerri and Paula
