The upgrade of the Human Resources/Campus Solutions HCM database to the 9.0 release includes a change in the navigation menu, the favorites menu, and in the processing indicator. Processing Icon In the HCM 8.9 release, users would see a flashing “processing” indicator message when the PeopleSoft/CMS system was working to process a request.

In the HCM 9.0 release, the “processing” message has been replaced with a new processing

indicator icon ( ). Users will see this icon while the PeopleSoft/CMS system is working to process a request.

Navigation Menu In the HCM 8.9 release, the navigation menu appeared on the left side of the screen. When a menu item was selected, the left menu expanded to show the submenu items. The menu items also appeared on the right of the screen.

In the HCM 9.0 release, users have two menu navigation options on the PeopleSoft home page: the drop-down navigation menu at the top of the screen and the left navigation menu.

Functionality Information Screen Shots Clicking on an option in the drop-down navigation menu opens up a list of all of the available sub-menu selections.

To select a folder, click on the folder icon ( ) next to the folder name.

Functionality Information Screen Shots All of the sub-menu items in that folder appear on the screen. Users can continue to use the drop-down navigation menu at the top of the screen, select a folder on the screen, or select an item on the screen.

Users can also use the drop-down navigation menu to drill down to a specific menu item.

The drop-down navigation menu also serves as a breadcrumb trail. Breadcrumbs show users their current location in the navigation menu and provide a path back to the main menu.

Using Favorites The Favorites functionality allows users to create shortcuts to frequently used menu items and folders. In the 8.9 release, the My Favorites menu appeared at the top of the left navigation menu. Users added a new favorite by navigating to the functionality and then clicking on the Add to Favorites link at the top right of the screen.

Functionality Information Screen Shots In the 9.0 release, there are two locations for Favorites: the Favorites drop-down navigation menu and the My Favorites link in the left navigation menu.

The Favorites drop-down navigation menu allows you to access your saved favorites, add new favorites, and edit/delete favorites.

Functionality Information Screen Shots Click on the name of a favorite to jump to that menu item or folder.

Adding a Favorite To add a favorite, first navigate to the functionality or folder to be added as a favorite.

Then select Add to Favorites either from the Favorites drop-down navigation menu or from the link at the top right of the screen.

Functionality Information Screen Shots A dialog box will open. A default name for the Favorite will be populated in the Description field. Users may update the Description field to change the name of the Favorite. Then click OK.

A confirmation that your favorite has been saved will appear. Click OK.

The shortcut now appears in the Favorites drop-down navigation menu.

Editing a Favorite To edit a favorite, select Edit Favorites from the Favorites drop-down navigation menu.

You can also select Edit Favorites from the My Favorites link in the left navigation menu.

Change the name of the favorite by updating the Favorite field.

Click Delete to delete a favorite.

Click OK to confirm the deletion.

Recently Used The Recently Used functionality shows you up to five of the last functions that you used in the system. You can click on a function name to jump to it.

Printing Pages in HCM 9.0 If you experience an issue with printing a screen in HCM 9.0, follow the relevant steps below to find a solution.

Internet Explorer In some versions of Internet Explorer, only a portion of the screen will print when the Print function is used. To print the entire screen, right-click on the screen and choose Select All.

Next select the File menu. Then select Print and proceed with the print process.

Firefox In some instances, Firefox will not find anything to print if you use the Print menu. This is because PeopleSoft is using frames. To print a screen, right-click (or Ctrl + click) on the screen you wish to print. Select This Frame. Then select Print Frame… and continue the print process as normal.
