SETTING AN OUT OFFICE NOTIFICATIONYou can now specify the time of day for an Out of Office notification to initiate.1.Click and choose Out of Office from menu.2.Click beside the Leaving and Returning boxes, and choose your leaving and returning dates using the pop-up calendar. Set a leaving and returning time applicable.3.Type a subject and message in the Standard Notification area.To send a different notification to specific people: click the Alternate Notification tab, enter a recipient in the To: box, an type a custom subject and message.4. ClickNote: Out of Office notifications will start inmediately and will be disabled automatically at your returning date. To cancel and out-of-office notification: click and choose Out of Office. INSTANT SPELL CHECKNotes 8.5 can check your spelling as you type, underlining misspelled words. To enable instant spell check: choose File Preferences. In the preferences dialog box, click Spell Check and check the Enable Instant Spell Checking box . Click OK.

AUTOMATICALLY SAVING EMAIL AND DOCUMENTSDocuments can be automatically saved at a defined interval. If Notes shuts down while you are working, you can recover automatically saved documents. 1.Choose File Preferences. Click Basic Notes Client Configuration.2. Under Startup and shut down, check the AutoSave every 15 minutes box .If desired, change the autosave interval.3. Click OK.To recover an autosaved document or email: Choose File AutoSave Recover AutoSaved Documents. Select the document you want to recover and click Recover.

RECALLING MESSAGESYou can now retract messages that have been sent and saved in your Sent folder. This feature is useful if you have sent a message in error, or if you want to edit and re-send a message. Click Mail and click Sent in the Navigation pane. Right-click a message and choose Recall Message from the menu. Select the recipients to recall from, choose recall options, and click OK.Note: This feature only works for messages sent to internal users also you and the recipient must be using at minimum the Release 8 mail template on a Release 8 Domino server and the recipient must have set mail preferences to allow mail recall.

COLOR-CODE MAIL FROM SPECIFIC SENDERSTo color-code mail from specific senders, click File Preferences, click Mail, and then click the Sender Colors tab .

It is an exciting new feature that extends a user's ability to manage unprocesed meeting notices.1. Either from the Inbox or Calendar view, click the More action button from the view's action bar, and then select Preferences from the drop-down menu. The Preference dialog box opens.2.In the Preferences dialog box, click the Calendar & To Do tab, click the Display tab, and then click the Views tab.3.Select Display new (unprocessed) notices to enable calendar ghosting

MEETINGS - PREFERRED ROOMSYou can set the default site for meetings and create a list of preferred rooms and resources to select from when you are scheduling a meeting.To set preferences for meeting rooms and resources, click File Preferences, click Calendar and To Do, and then click Rooms & Resources.

When creating a newmeeting entry; click Find Rooms and then select Search only preferred room for this site.
