We supply buckles of mild steel, zinc, wire and plastic. Electroplated Pressed Steel Buckles are inexpensive, light, strong, easily electroplated to various metallic finished and are suitable for most clothing and footwear applications. Extended outdoor exposure may however cause corrosion. Zinc alloys may be pressure die cast for fine detail, strength and consistency. Despite higher initial tooling cost, large quantities are best cast by this method. Zinc is almost as strong as steel, is less susceptible to corrosion, but is inflexible and brittle. Zinc may also be spun cast. It is a slow, labour intensive method suitable for small quantities where detail and consistency are not critical. Wire buckles have special properties through their generally round wire steel construction. Their extra strength comes from their flexibility. Plastic is inexpensive, light, flexible, easy wearing and doesn’t corrode. Very good outdoors and where the large breaking strains of the metal buckles are not critical.

Haesloop Agencies cc has been in Pinetown (outside Durban, South Africa) since the early 1950’s, and specialises in the supply of small metal and plastic components for the shoe and clothing manufacturing industries of South Africa. Starting as an indent agent for five German metal shoe component manufacturers, JH Haesloop was able to supply super-high quality raw materials at post-war-Germany prices. During the 1960’s the ever-increasing demand for shorter delivery times (sea-freight took at least 31⁄2 months!) caused RH Haesloop to take the bold move of holding stock. This continues to be a strength of the business today with bulk stocks of the most common six hundred products (many showed in this catalogue) and large quantities of the other six thousand core products.

Being geographically located right in the hub of the South African footwear and clothing industry, customers in this greater Durban-Pietermaritzburg area enjoy daily free delivery of their goods to their door while customers as far afield as Zambia and Kenya benefit from frequent mainline road and air deliveries, very often ex-stock.

Almost all metal products are available ex-stock in various metallic finishes and special finishes may be matched and electroplated (up to three days). Dyeing, stripping and painting of all other products can usually also be arranged.

HOW TO GET THE BEST DEAL:We are often asked the impossible, and this we do immediately. Miracles take a little longer. In our long experience we have found that good planning on the customers’ part leads to higher quality products, lower prices, faster delivery, happier customers and long business relations.
