    Koreas Symbols

The official name for South Korea is the Republic of Korea. Taegeukgi, the Korean flag,

symbolizes two traits Koreans emphasize: peace and harmony. The national flower of South

Korea, the Rose of Sharon, represents the peoples unbreakable will and the national

anthem, the Aegukga, expresses hope for South Korea to always flourish and prosper.
