2. Requirements z Workstations runningWindows 10/XP/2003/Vista/7/8/2008, MAC OS X or later,Linux,UNIX,orotherplatformsarecompatiblewithTCP/IPprotocols.
z Serial Port Connection (Terminal)
The above Workstations come with RS232 COM Port(DB9)orUSB-to-RS232converter.
TheaboveWorkstationshavebeeninstalledwithterminal emulator,suchasHyperTerminalincludedinWindowsXP/2003.
Serial cable -- one end is attached to theRS232 serial port,while the otherendtotheconsoleportoftheManagedPoESwitch.
z Ethernet Port Connection
WorkstationsareinstalledwithEthernetNIC(NetworkInterfaceCard)
Networkcables--Usestandardnetwork(UTP)cableswithRJ45connectors.

Note
It isrecommendedtouseInternetExplorer8.0orabovetoaccesstheManagedPoESwitch. If theWeb interfaceof theManagedPoESwitch is not accessible, please turn off the anti-virus software orfirewallandthentryitagain.
2.1 Power RequirementsTheGS-6322-24P4X isdesignedwithtwomodularpowersupplyslots.Itcanworkwith three optional 920W/1200W/2000WAC power supplies. The final package ofswitchandpowersupplieswilldependonyourpurchase.Itdoesn’t installapowersupply by default. Please contact your local distributor or retailer for confirmingyour purchase package.

For compatibilitywith electrical voltages inmost areas of theworld, theManagedPoE Switch’s modular power supply can automatically adjust line power in therange of 100-240V AC and 50/60 Hz. However, if you’d like to have maximumpoweroutput,it’srequiredspecificpowerinput.
Plug the femaleC15endof thepower cordfirmly into the receptacle on the rearpanel of the Managed PoE Switch and the other end of the power cord into anelectricaloutletandthepowerwillbeready.
TheGS-6322-24P4X isalsoequippedapowerejectbuttonforsafeoperationsandindicationsofpowersupplies.

Caution

3. Terminal SetupToconfigure thesystem,connectaserialcable toaRS232 COM port on a PC or notebookcomputerandtoRJ45typeofserialportoftheManagedPoESwitch.

A terminal program is required tomake the software connection to the ManagedPoESwitch.
1. Run terminal program on the OS.
2.When the following screen appears, make sure that the COM port should beconfiguredas:
z Baud:115200
z Data bits: 8
z Parity:None
z Stop bits: 1
z Flowcontrol:None

3.1 Logging on to ConsoleOnce the terminal is connected to thedevice,poweron theManagedPoESwitch,and the terminal will display “running testing procedures”. Then, the followingmessage asks to log in user name and password. The factory default user nameandpasswordareshownasfollowsandtheloginscreeninFigure3-3appears.

The user can now enter commands to manage the Managed PoE Switch. For adetaileddescriptionofthecommands,pleaserefertothefollowingchapters.

1.Forsecurity reason,pleasechangeandmemorize thenewpass-wordafterthisfirstsetup.
2.Only accept command in lowercase letter under console inter-face.

If you are not familiar with the console command or the relatedparameter, enter “help” anytime in console to get the help description.

4. Starting Web ManagementThe following shows how to start up the Web Management of the ManagedPoE Switch. Note the Managed PoE Switch is configured through an Ethernetconnection. Please make sure the manager PC must be set to the same IP subnet address.
Forexample,thedefaultIPaddressoftheManagedPoESwitchis192.168.0.100,then the manager PC should be set to 192.168.0.x (where x is a number between1and254,except100),andthedefaultsubnetmaskis255.255.255.0.

4.1 Logging in to the Managed PoE Switch1.Use Internet Explorer 8.0 or above Web browser and enter IP address
https://192.168.0.100 (the factory default IP address or the one that youhavejustchangedinconsole)toaccesstheWebinterface.
2.When the followingdialogboxappears,pleaseenter thedefaultusernameandpassword“admin” (or the password youhave changed via console). The loginscreeninFigure4-2appears.

3.Afterenteringthepassword,themainscreenappearsasFigure4-3shows.

4.TheSwitchMenuonthetopoftheWebpage letsyouaccessall thecommandsand statistics the IndustrialManaged Switch provides. The SwitchMenu alwayscontains one or more buttons, such as “System”, “Switching”, “Routing”,“QoS”,“Security”,“PoE”,“Ring”,“ONVIF”and“Maintenance”.

Now, you can use the Web management interface to continue the Switchmanagement. Please refer to the user manual for more.

4.2 SavingConfigurationviaWebTo save all applied changes and set the current configuration as a startupconfiguration, the startup-configuration file will be loaded automatically across asystem reboot.
1. Click the Save icon on the top Switch Menu bar.
2. Press the “Save Configuration” button.
3. Or the other way to save the setting is to Click Maintenance, Save Startup Config.

5.RecoveringBacktoDefaultConfiguration IPaddresshasbeenchangedoradminpasswordhasbeen
forgotten – To reset the IP address to the default IP address “192.168.0.100” or reset the login password to default value, press the hardware-based reset button on the rear panel for about 10 seconds.After thedevice isrebooted,youcan log inthemanagement Web interface within the same subnet of 192.168.0.xx.

6. Power Operation Mode ManagementThe GS-6322-24P4X is designed with two extractive modular power supply slotsto support Redundant Power Supply (RPS) mode or Extended Power Supply(EPS)mode via software setting to handle the demands of power redundancy oradditionalpowertoPoE++portsasneeded.
z RPS (1+1) mode: Where critical services are supported by PoE application,the secondaryPSU isneeded toprovidebackuppower in theeventof apoweroutage.
z EPS (2+0) mode: Where more PoE budget is required to support completeapplication, thesecondaryPSUcanprovideadditionalPoEpower.The twoPSUscombinedareabletoprovideamaximumoftotalPoEpower.
