Question six: What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this

product?

Page 2: Question six

PhotoshopBefore I started my media course I had never previously used Photoshop and i didn’t even know how to open a new project so I feel I have defiantly improved my skills a lot considering I had never used it before, I know can confidently import pictures, edit them and cut around them professionally, I also am confident at using the shape tools to create different effects e.g. my Polaroid theme pictures on the front page. I also learnt how to take colour from somewhere and apply it another to make sure my colour scheme was perfect, for instance when I took the colour of my cover stars lipstick and applied it to the colour of the cover line.

I also used different brushed that i downloaded from brusheezy to photoshop to create a background for my contents page, however the rest of my contents document was created using quark.

QuarkI personally preferred Photoshop to quark however I love the layout of quark documents as the columns really help to assist you in making everything have perfect alignment and look really professional.

I had to edit a lot of my images as they were to big to be rescaled in their original for, I had to edit them down using paint and making them smaller due to them being such high quality from the camera that i borrowed from college, by using paint to make them smaller they can fit 9nto the exact space and size I wanted for my pages.

I Also learn’t how to keep my quark documents looking neat for instance using collums for my double page spread and for my contents page just to ensure that everything was perfectly in line, that was a real plus to using this software.

I also used the shape tool to create the bullet point type look and circles around the page numbers on my contents page i feel that worked really well and was a lot simpler to do than i first thought it would be so i was very happy about that.

PrezziI also learnt how to use prezzi I was genuinely really impressed when I find out about this website in class, I believed that PowerPoint's were the limitation to presentations but i was so wrong I think it’s such a great idea and I think it looks a lot more professional, I used how to create text, change between title, header subheadings change font colour, how to add different/more circles to the navigation page or to delete them if necessary and I learnt how to rearrange the order so the audience would be guided through the right order through the details so there were no mistakes and overall I was really impressed by the outcome of my prezzi documents and I would even say that in the future if I had an idea to present I would use this technology it was simple but looked really good.

BloggerI was really nervous about starting a blog as the ideas sounded quite intense and scary

and as I've never created one I was a bit scared, I have been on Blogger.com before but not to look at my own blogs or to even create blogs but to look at fashion/styling ones and they were all very good so I was nervous about how to make mine look professional but within the first few sessions I was getting to grips with it but now I can confidently create/edit blogs and make them and can put embedded videos into my work I can also add images from my documents into the blog and i know how to spell check and write out text so I am really happy about how fast i picked it up and I was defiantly surprised in contrast to the technology's to Photoshop ect how easy it was to use and how user friendly it seemed.

Da FontsI found websites like this crucial to making my

magazine look the slightest bit professional, without being able to type in a related word to my genre on this i would have really struggled to make things like my header ect stand out and make it look professional.

Page 7: Question six

BrusheezyBrusheezy really helped me to create the background for my contents page i knew i wanted it

all to be purple but for me the block colour just really wasn’t working and didn’t look profesional sp brusheezy was a great technique not only to install to my target audience the house style with the graffiti spray to really push the idea

of grime but to also break up colours and i am happy withHow it turned out.

The only negative i feel about using technologies such aBrusheezy and Da fonts is I think they are not suitable to useIn a collge/school environment. As they download only to One computer and not the system or your log in (area) so Every time you want to work on a document that has text Da fonts you have to use a specific computer and that was Restricting and time consuming but in the professional world There must be a way around that because it was very Problematic.
