FOREWARD

Indian Railways started inception & mass production of LHB coaches

from the year 2002. Now the number of LHB coaches is increasing

day by day. These coaches have been manufactured with advanced

technology as compared to ICF coaches to provide better comfort,

safety and modern facilities. The design of LHB coaches is different

from the ICF coaches and so as its maintenance practice.

Dissemination of knowledge regard to LHB coaches & Proper

training of Coach Maintenance staff & supervisors is very important.

CAMTECH has prepared this question bank to meet the training

requirement of staff and supervisors. Providing knowledge of LHB

coaches is the main objective of this handbook. This handbook

"Question Bank (Electricals) on LHB Coaches" contains objective-

type questions related to a brief introduction, technical details,

RMPU, WRA, power car related components & maintenance

schedule of LHB coaches.

I am sure that the handbook will be useful for training of maintenance

related staff and supervisors to ensure trouble-free train operation

service.

PREFACE

The maintenance of LHB-type coaches is quite different from that of

ICF design coaches. Therefore, it has become necessary to provide

different training materials for maintenance staff and supervisors. The

artisans and supervisors involved in maintenance & safety operations

are considered up-to-date respecting the technical knowledge of this

coaching stock.

CAMTECH has prepared a hand booklet on "Question Bank

(Electricals) on LHB Coaches" with a view to assisting the employees

through training in which more than 250 questions related to a brief

introduction, technical and features of various components, and

maintenance activities of LHB coaches have been compiled.

The purpose of this handbook is to assist the employees concerned

and does not supersede any existing instructions from Railway Board,

RDSO or IRCA etc. Most of the data and information mentioned

herein are available in LHB manual and in various books or other

printed matters. If any changes are made, these will be issued in the

form of correction slips.

Technological upgrading and learning is a continuous process. Hence

feel free to write us for any additions/modifications or in case you

have any suggestions to improve the handbook. Your contribution in

this direction will be highly appreciated.
