How did you attract/address your audience?

Page 2: Question 5- How did you attract/address your audience?

Before creating my magazine I did a questionnaire to find out what my audience

wanted from my magazine.

Page 3: Question 5- How did you attract/address your audience?

After looking through the results it allowed me to create my magazine catering to my audiences needs. For example, I could see that several

answers came back from

‘What artists would you like to appear in my magazine?’

that they would like Ben Howard and The Vaccines to feature somewhere in my magazine, so this

then led me to putting them as cover lines on my Front Cover.

My articles on my contents page were also the result of my audience feedback, so this another way I have addressed them.

Page 5: Question 5- How did you attract/address your audience?

I used my Masthead on the front cover to attract my audience as ‘Cult’ means a

group of different/’individual’ people which is what ‘indie’ stands for and also

a group of people is what the music industry caters too and is all about and a

cult also have rivalries which also links to music industry and its other magazine

competitors. My models clothing and props on the cover also attract to my audience as her t-shirt is minimalistic but her trousers are a bold statement

piece of clothing which would connote her individuality and quirky style which

appeals to the ‘indie’ social group/genre. The guitar is an instrument

that is key to most music bands and songs but also many indie bands play acoustic with their guitar so I feel this

further attracts to my audience.
