How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
New Front Cover
My last front cover was okay following the layout of the magazine but it didn’t look or feel like a soap opera front cover. So I decided to start again following a different magazine front cover which worked better to what I could do with Photoshop. I kept most of the images that I used for my old front cover but this time I changed how they looked and added titles and effects to make them stand out, I decided that the name/logo of my magazine needed to be bigger and stand out but not take up to much.
Eye contact to make connection between characters and readers.
Colours are bright and colourful to give the cheesy crayon look.
Name of soaps and then little caption gives main stories/articles of soaps and what's happening in themMain image takes up page but allows for other images to be fitted in without getting in the way of each other.
New Poster/Billboard Poster
Also I did the same for my poster, as it looked to out of place and over photoshopped, so I went back and got rid of the black and white brick wall and gave it a normal coloured wall, the made the characters bigger on the image so they took up most of the image, then got rid of the graffiti and change the ‘new series’ text for the name of the soap. This looked better as it looked more realistic
