Question 2-EvaluationHow does your media product represent

particular social groups?

Page 2: Question 2 evaluation

The main social group of our film is teenagers aged 15-18. This is because a lot of teenagers around this age use drugs and it can affect their life and relationships. We have made the characters appear in the stereotypical ‘druggie’ look which is tracksuit, hoodsand baggy clothing. We also included props in our opening sequence like a bike which fits our social group as many late teenagers are sporty and active. Another prop we used was a phone which is used by most if not all teenagers to contact friends and go on social media, this appeals to teenagers rather than older people as they have work and may just be outdated to use a new piece of tech

In our opening sequence, we represent the teenagers as quite bad people, there are many different clues as to why this is. Firstly, the first character we see is at home cutting wood, this may indicate that he has been expelled from school or something like that as he looks about 16/17, at this age you are required to be in school. Another indicator is that the second character goes to school and when he has finished his work, he meets a drug dealer. There are many views on teenager from society that we are bad, dangerous people. I think our film only shows the bad side of teenagers.
