GenderI targeted my magazine at the beginning of the process at both genders as I thought my images would be appropriate for both. I would like to say this target was correct as I included both male and female within my magazine.

My front cover included a stereotypical male hip hop artist with slight attitude and strength. This page could maybe be argued to be more aimed at males due to the fact males will be aspired to the character . However, the male could also be an attraction to women and therefore be catchy to both sides. Also, the headlines mention a number of artists that the audience could be a fans. This may also interest both males and females.

Concentrating mainly on the female character again her style could be inspirational to women but an attraction to men. Also, the colours are sophisticated and add style. The gold's and browns connote a classy and clean look which both genders may find striking.

Focusing mainly on the colours of the double page spread and how the vibrant and artistic look to the page draws the audience in and is suitable for both genders . It highlights there is no theme of pinks for girls or blue for boys, mixed colours a suitable for both.

AgeA accurate decision of the target audiences age being from 16 to 25 previously was then continued throughout the magazine production.

Using new and fresh artists allows this age group to be interested and understand the culture of the genre. For example Rizzle Kicks are an extremely present group who attract a young fan base of 16-25 year olds as they themselves are young and popular so including them in the magazine will encourage fans understand their intensions and style.

Including upcoming events on the contents page get readers together and enjoy the music the magazine is based on. Promotions of nights out and events encourage people to have a good time whist enjoying this type of music.

With technology improving and people aged 16-25 understanding this development and adapt to the usage of it, I was able to include a qr code which people this age will hopefully think to use. Also this age group are likely to have the technology to follow the code for example the app on the I phone.

Education and EmploymentA targeted age group of 16-25 are normally studying at college or employed and could be still finding themselves and the magazine could influence there style.

With the model being young looking it could be argued that the magazine is for younger the targeted audience however, I felt the picture with the clothes and stance made the model look mature and ideal for the targeted age group. The clothes could inspire the age group and develop who they want to be. At college people are free to be who they are and this look is very popular in many colleges so will be accepted.

The article is fairly long with a specific writing style and columns. It includes slightly informal quotes from the artist to connote a stereotypical hip hop artist and will attracts younger age audience who understand the slang. However, the article is constructed using the third person referring to the artist as his name or ‘he’. This makes the article slightly more formal and detailed so more information is in a short space ,which educated people are most likely to understand.

Also, above the bar code is a price tag for the product this cost will mainly be covered by college students purchasing due to interest within the culture or employed people who are able to easily afford it and are also a fan of the genre.

RaceWith the location of York , finding a black model was tricky however, I managed to get a tanned male and a tanned female which I thought would be suitable as there style reminded me of the hip hop culture. Hopefully the magazine will appeal to many cultures as hip hop music has a wide and multicultural fan base.
