Front Cover

One main image is used this uses direct address which engages the reader. It also reflects the rock genre and suits the anchorage text. None of the text covers the face.

Main cover line anchors the image. It includes the artists name which is a convention of most music magazines. It is the second largest text on the page and has a sub line which explains a bit about the article.A barcode is included as all magazine has one. It also has all the issue details with it (price, date, issues number and magazine website). This is smaller than all the other text.

A puff has been used to interest the reader and offer them extras.

Most of the cover lines are band names, a sub line is used after to explain what each article is about. These are smaller in font and are used to interest the reader.

Unique masthead, its a unique font and is the biggest text on the page making it stand out. This is the magazines trademark.The positioning statement is near the masthead and is smaller than the masthead.

The bar contains more band names in order to appeal to a wider audience.

The words ‘contents’ is at the top of the page and is prominent.

The page number and text that are attached to each image reflect the article.

A wide variety of images are used that all reflect the genre.

Headings have been used to make it easier for the reader to find an article and to break up the text.

Page numbers are in different coloured boxes and are slightly bigger than the text. This is a convention of the genre.

All the features are specific to rock music. There is a subline for each feature giving a short explanation.

Collage of images is used to attract the reader. Shows you the members

individually.

Headline is the largest text on the page it bleeds across onto the second page. It is one line long and doesn't tell the reader what the article is about making them

want to read on.

Drop cap used to show the start of the article.

A standfirst is used, introducing

the band. The band’s name is in a

different colour. The byline is

underneath the standfirst.

A introduction is used to let the

reader know a little bit about the

band’s history.

The double page spread is one of the featured article

on my contents page.
