Notable former ScholarsNaomi Cavaday: Career high No. 5 in Great Britain and No. 197 in the world. Played Venus Williams in the first round of the Ladies’ Singles of the Wimbledon Championships in 2008.Amanda Elliott: No. 9 in Great Britain and 377 in the world. Played in the Ladies’ Doubles at Wimbledon in 2008.Pippa Horn: National 18U champion.

Tier 1: Queenswood High Performance Tennis Scholarship (QHPTS)• Applicants should currently be, or show the

potential to be, ranked in the top 5 of their age group nationally. We work closely with the LTA to identify talent.

• A reduced timetable allows every QHPTS to devote at least 14 hours per week to her Tennis programme.

• Training is based at Gosling Tennis Academy, the largest academy in Great Britain and one of only four LTA-accredited International High Performance Centres in the UK.

• A Queenswood Tennis Scholar kit is provided.• Profiling in the tactical, physical and mental

aspects of the game is offered, with a tailor-made programme overseen by a programme manager.

• The Head of Tennis oversees all academic and Tennis commitments and deals with catering, transport and logistical issues.

• Time is allowed for training and tournaments nationally and internationally as appropriate.

• Players over the age of 16 may be eligible to join the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence Scheme (AASE) funded by the government.

• Each individual’s programme manager liaises with the Head of Tennis with regards to all aspects of her game, timetable and academic commitments.

Tier 2: Queenswood Tennis Scholarship (QTS)• Applicants should currently be at the very least in the top

10 in the county, and potentially ranked nationally for their age group.

• An adapted timetable allows every QTS to devote at least 7 hours per week to her Tennis programme:

— 2 Tennis Squad sessions per week (one at Queenswood, one at Gosling)

— 2 Tennis lessons per week (one with the Head of Tennis, one with a Queenswood Tennis Coach)

— 1 Strength and Conditioning session — Weekly fitness training with fitness testing — 1 Tutorial with the Head of Tennis as Mentor,

overlooking the weekly schedule and identifying academic pressures, etc.

• Time is allowed for additional training and tournaments as appropriate.

• A Queenswood Tennis Scholar kit is provided.

Recent achievementsQueenswood won the AEGON Team Tennis Schools National Championships (also known as the Aberdare Cup) in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015. We reached the final of the World Schools Tennis Championship in Australia in 2013.

Tennis for allBeyond the Scholarship programmes, all Queenswood girls benefit from access to our superb facilities and coaching expertise. We accommodate the needs of every girl, from beginner level to upper club standard.

• Individual/paired lessons with professional coaches all year round.

• A range of Tennis Clubs to suit all ages and abilities.• Performance squads for team players.• Strength and Conditioning sessions for team players.• Opportunities to play in school matches during the summer

term against local and rival schools.• Opportunities to play at a competitive level, including:

— Senior Students Team Tennis LTA competition — ‘Road to Wimbledon’ U14 Challenge Competition — Team Tennis LTA National Age Group Competitions at

U13 and U15 level — Queenswood School Tennis tournament

• Annual Pre-Season Tennis Tour for all age groups to European Tennis Training Camps during the Easter holiday.
