EVER WONDER...Why do super-markets make the sick walk all the wayto the back of the store to get their pre-scriptions while healthy people can buycigarettes at the front? Why do people

order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke?

Why do banks leave vault doors open and thenchain the pens to the counters? Why do we leave cars worth thousands of dol-lars in our driveways and put our useless junkin the garage? Why does the sun lightens our hair, but darkensour skin? Why don’t you ever see the headline ‘PsychicWins Lottery’?Why is ‘abbreviated’ such a long word? Why is it that doctors and attorneys call whatthey do ‘practice’?Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor-ing, and dish washing liquid made with real lem-ons?Why is the man who invests all your money calleda broker? Why is the time of day with the slowest trafficcalled rush hour? Why isn’t there mouse-flavored cat food? Why didn’t Noah swat those two mosquitoes? Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal in-jections?You know that indestructible black box that isused on airplanes? Why don’t they make thewhole plane out of that stuff??Why don’t sheep shrink when it rains? Why are they called apartments when they areall stuck together? If flying is so safe, why do they call the airportthe terminal?

Jade came to us after her previous guardian passedaway. She is a bit of a diva and would prefer not to haveto share the spotlight with anyone else. She has alwaysbeen an indoor cat and at 9 years old should not beallowed outside. She can have her loving moments, andher playful moments, but overall Jade is a fairly inde-

pendent cat. All she really needs to be happy is a comfortable bed tocurl up on and peace and quiet. If you think your home is just the placefor Jade to retire to please come by and pay her a visit!

Loretta came to SCAC because her previous guard-ian could no longer care for her. She is a very ener-getic, playful cat that gets along with people, dogs, and some cats. Loretta is looking for a forever homewith someone who likes to play and won’t mind herrunning around and speaking her mind. She has been

indoors her whole life and would like to be an indoor only cat. If Lorettasounds like the girl for you please stop by and pay her a visit.

New Year came to us after been found running aroundsomeone’s yard. We know he’s been someone’s petbefore though, because he is a wonderfully friendlysoul. He just loves getting pet, doesn’t mind beingpicked up, and is incredibly gentile. He really coulduse a new start, so if you think you’ve got space inyour home for an adorable, cuddly furry companion

like him come on down and visit him!

THESE ARE ACTUAL COM-PLAINTS RECEIVED BY “THO-MAS COOK VACATIONS” FROMDISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS:1. “I think it should be explained in the

brochure that the local convenience store does not sell properbiscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.”2. “It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to closein the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’time â“ this should be banned.”3. “On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find thatalmost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food.”4. “We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told uswe had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed itwould be included in the price.”5. “The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everythingwhen we returned to our room.”6. “We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure.Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yel-low.”7. “They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. Itwas very distracting for my husband who just wanted to re-lax.”8. “No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The chil-dren were scared.”9. “Although the brochure said that there was a fully equippedkitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers.”10. “We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with thetaxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”11. “The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not readthe local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Becauseof this, we were unaware of many things that would havemade our holiday more fun.”12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to En-gland. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”13. “I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to ourfriends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller.”14. “The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort.’ We’retrainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us waitlonger for service.”15. “When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanishpeople there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food wasSpanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreign-ers.”16. “We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there wasno air-conditioning.”17. “It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy orunruly guests before we travel.”18. “I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mentionmosquitoes.”19. “My fiancee and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. Wenow hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed forthe fact that I became pregnant. This would not have hap-pened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”
