Anyone interested in becoming Catholic or in learning more about their Catholic Faith should speak to me (Fr. Martin) as I hope to resume R.C.I.A. / Adult Catechesis in the near future. A couple of people have already shown an interest and I have also had two people enquiring via the parish website. ON DEVOTION OF THE ROSARY

This devotion, so great and so confident, to the august Queen of Heaven, has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the militant Church of God has seemed to be endangered by the violence of heresy spread abroad, or by an intolerable moral corruption, or by the attacks of powerful enemies. Ancient and modern history and the more sacred annals of the Church bear witness to public and private supplications addressed to the Mother of God, to the help she has granted in return, and to the peace and tranquillity which she had obtained from God. Hence her illustrious titles of helper, consoler, mighty in war, victorious, and peace-giver. And amongst these is specially to be commemorated that familiar title derived from the Rosary by which the signal benefits she has gained for the whole of Christendom have been solemnly perpetuated.

If you are a tax payer we can claim back 25p for every £1 donated through the Gift Aid Scheme. If you would like to do this please speak to Fr. Martin, all it requires is the filling in of a simple form and the allocation to you of numbered envelopes. If you are frequently away and would like to give in a more sustained fashion

please consider setting up a Standing Order through the bank. If you haven’t increased your contributions over the past years, please also consider if you can afford something extra in your weekly donation. Remember that what comes in through our

weekly collections is also levied by the Diocese to support the functioning of the Diocesan Church as a whole, 15% of our collection income goes every month for this purpose. God bless you, Fr. Martin

Choir Concert

On Saturday 9th November 2019 a fundraising concert will be held in Kinross Parish Church by the East Fife Male Voice Choir. The concert will be to raise funds for St. James’ & St. Matthew’s. Tickets will be on sale for the concert priced £10.00 each (though not quite yet!). This is advance warning so that you can keep the date free and save up for your tickets! The concert will begin in the Parish Church at 7.30p.m. that evening. Please encourage others to come - friends, family and neighbours. The music will be varied and should appeal to all tastes. Anyone who knows of the choir will know of their great reputation and skill. I, personally, am very much looking forward to the evening and hope to see you there. God bless, Fr. Martin

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Rachel Shackleton and Michael Howie who tied the knot in

St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee, on Friday 4th October, Feast of St. Francis of

Assisi. Every prayer and good wish to this lovely young couple as they start out

now on their married life together as Mr. &
